The product of a unique co-operation between all major churches in the British Isles, the "Revised English Bible" was first commissioned by the Joint Committee of the Churches as an extensive revision of the "New English Bible". Following the enthusiastic reception which greeted publication of the standard edition in September 1989, interest in the revised edition has grown, and several further editions are planned, of which the New Testament is the first. This volume is bound in blue balacron with gilt blocking and gilt edges, and has been designed primarily as a presentation edition suitable for ordinations, confirmations and similar occasions.
