An easy to read Bible,
This review is from: New Revised Standard Version Children's Bible- NRSV Noah's Ark Cover (Hardcover)
I bought this for my 11 year old son who asked me for a Bible he could start studying. I was very pleased to see it maintains the Bible formatting with verse numbers so this is not a bedtime storybook with biblical themes.
The book itself is a nice, well constructed hard cover that should last a long time.

This Bible solves the "too-small type" problem of cheaper Bibles, because this Bible is easy to read. It features nicely bound pages that feel long-lasting and its art is appropriate and unique. All around, it's a sturdy bible of a trustworthy translation.

The Best Children's Bible,
By The Inspector "3jrs" (Decatur, AL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: New Revised Standard Version Children's Bible- NRSV Noah's Ark Cover (Hardcover)
I believe this is one of the best children's Bibles I have ever seen. The NRSV is an accurate and readable translation appropriate for ages 8 to 108. The cover and artwork are colorful and appropriate for the age level this Bible targets. The cartoon-type artwork of Biblical characters guarantees to spark interest in their topics. The "helps" within the text and book introductions are succinct and understandable. The icons that lead young readers to the main points of the Bible are very helpful and easy to follow. The four icons used throughout this Bible guides the reader to 1. God's Path (Who is God and how God wants you to Live), 2. Finding the Path (application of Biblical truths to your life), 3. Light on the Path (key verse for memorization), and 4. Points along the Path (people and places in the Bible). There is a nice dictionary in the back as well as colorful maps and Biblical timeline.
The only possible criticism I may have is that the publisher has titled this Bible "The NRSV Children's Bible". I wish they had just titled it "The Holy Bible". The word "Children's" in the title may make a teenager feel self-conscious carrying this Bible to church. I give this Bible 4 out of 5 stars.

This review is from: New Revised Standard Version Children's Bible- NRSV Noah's Ark Cover (Hardcover)
The layout and simplicity of the NRSV in this children's edition is great for kids. It is a great teaching tool for getting children interested in reading the Bible. The pictures are great, the sub-headings are a big plus, the glossary in the back is also very helpful. It would be even better if there were more of those picture, maps, and illustrations embedded in the text that coincided with the stories. It would also be great if the cross reference column was added to further teach kids how the Bible is inter-connected. But it still is a great version for kids. I am very happy that I purchased it for my son, and what's best is that he LOVES it, and he loves taking it to church and Sabbath school every Saturday.

Great Children's Bible,

This is a great children's Bible. We preferred the blue cover to the Noah's Ark cover (same exact Bibles!) so the children wouldn't feel like they outgrew it as fast. Excellent resources, articles, maps, and tidbits that get the children into their Bibles! They love 'em!

We chose this Bible to present to children in 1st through 4th grades for their personal and Sunday School use. I am very happy with the entire process from order through receipt of the Bibles.

My son loves it and it's held up to over a year of manhandling, being shoved in and out of backpacks, and God knows what else while in the first grader's backpack...
