Revival in Belfast Live Worship with Robin Mark, November 6, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Revival In Belfast (Audio CD)
I have been singing in choirs and listening to Christian music for decades, yet I have seldom had the pleasure and blessing of finding music that touched my heart as much as Revival in Belfast. Robin Mark has been blessed with a gift from God to bring worship right into the heart of every listener whether they are similar to one another or quite different. I highly recommend this CD to you if you are looking for a way to stir your soul to worship Almighty God. I particularly enjoy singing along with "Revival" "You're The Lion of Judah" and "Jesus, All For Jesus."

I've always enjoyed Irish music, though their pop can be rather depressing--esp. Paddy Reilly. But add the message of Jesus to the simple, singable nature of much Irish song, and you have a mix that can't be beaten. I heard the last 3 tracks of this CD on a Christian radio stationon one of the many nights I have been plagued with insomnia. All I wanted to do was find the Cd after that. I did, and, being an import, I paid a bit for it. But was it a great investment. Our church sings "Be Unto Your Name," and I'd love to hear them sing any of the tracks from here. "Garments of Praise," "Shout to the North," and Revival, the first 3 tracks, all have hooks I catch myself singing sometimes on my daily walk to work. I have played this CD repeatedly during some very difficult times I have encountered, and never failed to be cheered by Robin Mark and the band. I now own all 3 CD's he has produced, and await even more if he ever releases them.

Amazing, November 21, 2005

This album is an amazing and remarkable album.
In general, I'm not a big fan of Christian worship music as I find much of it to be too superficial - both musically and lyrically. However, this album changed my entire perspective. The Irish influence on this album is just awesome with the Irish pipes being a major force. The first song that caught my attention was "When It's All Said and Done" which I initially heard on TV (Yeah, that's right, TV). It's a very contemplative song with a wonderful melody.
Then I found the album and listened to the other tracks. All of the songs are great both melodically and lyrically: there's real meat in these melodies and lyrics. A couple of the songs deserve some attention here:
(1) "You're the Lion of Judah" is glorious praise. It has a great pace and especially listen to the chorus - You'll want to sing along and sing it loud!
(2) The stunner is "Days of Elijah": It's timeless and unforgettable. I love this song so much. It's a message of hope in a world that is broken and failing. When I first heard this song, it nearly brought me to my knees. This song has a blend of both Irish and "gospel" influences. (I think the backing choir gives it that "gospel" feel). When you hear the chorus, you will be moved. And like I said for "Lion of Judah", you'll want to sing along and sing it loud...okay, really loud!
I can't recommend this album enough.
In various trying times, it's been in heavy rotation and it's just so encouraging as Robin Mark is able to convey a message of hope in a very passionate and real way.
