Revival in Belfast Live Worship with Robin Mark,
By A Customer
This review is from: Revival In Belfast (Audio CD)
I have been singing in choirs and listening to Christian music for decades, yet I have seldom had the pleasure and blessing of finding music that touched my heart as much as Revival in Belfast. Robin Mark has been blessed with a gift from God to bring worship right into the heart of every listener whether they are similar to one another or quite different. I highly recommend this CD to you if you are looking for a way to stir your soul to worship Almighty God. I particularly enjoy singing along with "Revival" "You're The Lion of Judah" and "Jesus, All For Jesus."

I've always enjoyed Irish music, though their pop can be rather depressing--esp. Paddy Reilly. But add the message of Jesus to the simple, singable nature of much Irish song, and you have a mix that can't be beaten. I heard the last 3 tracks of this CD on a Christian radio stationon one of the many nights I have been plagued with insomnia. All I wanted to do was find the Cd after that. I did, and, being an import, I paid a bit for it. But was it a great investment. Our church sings "Be Unto Your Name," and I'd love to hear them sing any of the tracks from here. "Garments of Praise," "Shout to the North," and Revival, the first 3 tracks, all have hooks I catch myself singing sometimes on my daily walk to work. I have played this CD repeatedly during some very difficult times I have encountered, and never failed to be cheered by Robin Mark and the band. I now own all 3 CD's he has produced, and await even more if he ever releases them.

This album is an amazing and remarkable album.
In general, I'm not a big fan of Christian worship music as I find much of it to be too superficial - both musically and lyrically. However, this album changed my entire perspective. The Irish influence on this album is just awesome with the Irish pipes being a major force. The first song that caught my attention was "When It's All Said and Done" which I initially heard on TV (Yeah, that's right, TV). It's a very contemplative song with a wonderful melody. Then I found the album and listened to the other tracks. All of the songs are great both melodically and lyrically: there's real meat in these melodies and lyrics. A couple of the songs deserve some attention here: (1) "You're the Lion of Judah" is glorious praise. It has a great pace and especially listen to the chorus - You'll want to sing along and sing it loud! (2) The stunner is "Days of Elijah": It's timeless and unforgettable. I love this song so much. It's a message of hope in a world that is broken and failing. When I first heard this song, it nearly brought me to my knees. This song has a blend of both Irish and "gospel" influences. (I think the backing choir gives it that "gospel" feel). When you hear the chorus, you will be moved. And like I said for "Lion of Judah", you'll want to sing along and sing it loud...okay, really loud! I can't recommend this album enough. In various trying times, it's been in heavy rotation and it's just so encouraging as Robin Mark is able to convey a message of hope in a very passionate and real way.

A friend, knowing my love of Celtic music, said, "Listen to this. I think it's your kind of music." And was he ever right! Robin Mark's music is a marvelous blend of the sounds of the Emerald Isle and praise for He Who created us all. The lyrics are easy to pick up, and you just can't help but sing along. Rivival is an apt name for this CD. It can better than 6 cups of coffee to get you going, and then turn around, and be as soothing as your Mom's old down comforter on a rainy day. I'm giving it to all those I love for Christmas. I'm not one for lengthy doses of "religious" music, but Robin Mark is a delight to listen to and a marvelous way to stay focused on the Lord.

The best in praise and worship!,
By A Customer

As a fan of CCM and Celtic music this CD was a bonus for me. Revival in Belfast has all of the energy and passion that you could want in live praise and worship. Robin Mark has a passionate and longing voice for revival in his land, that is uplifting and reflecting. When I first listened to it, I did not understand what some of the lyrics meant, for example: "put on the garments of praise, for the spirit of heaviness", etc. So out of curiosity, I looked this verse up in my concordance in the back of my Bible and to my suprise, there it was in Isaiah 61:3. The same with many of the other songs on this CD. My point being, that the songs on here are, in fact, Biblical which makes it a more enjoyable listening experience for me. The music has a nice Celtic flavor to it. But you don't have to be a fan of Celtic music to love this CD, you just have to be a fan of Jesus Christ.

Best Christian CD I've Ever Heard,
By A Customer

I have now purchased six extra CDs of "Revival in Belfast" and have given them all away. Everyone is passionate about this music. I haven't been so moved by any Christian CD in quite a long time. We indeed trade our sorrows for "garments of praise." What makes this music ring true is Mr. Mark's notable sincerity and devotion. And then there's that whole Holy Spirit Thing . . . ! You can't miss with this. I call it my "hands off the steering wheel" CD (and sometimes, "Revival in my Maxima")!

There won't be any rocks or mountains crying out in Ireland!,

Revival In Belfast is nothing short of wonderful. This is sure to hold true for anyone who loves good Praise & Worship music. When I first bought this CD, I did so pretty much out of curiosity. I just saw the cover and thought it looked like something new and different and worth trying out. Well, sometimes a little bit of curiosity can really pay off! Being born and raised in Bible Belt USA, I always get bored with the same old Praise songs all the time. Not that there's anything wrong with the songs, but when it's the same thing over and over and over again, it's time to take a longer look at what all's out there. Don't get me wrong, we've got some awesome Praise tunes here in the States. But it's always a blessing to hear how other cultures sing praises to Jesus. Well, the Irish certainly know how to "put on the garments of praise." The songs on this CD are new and original. The opener "Garments of Praise" makes for the perfect invitation to simply spend some time making joyful noises (though if you're voice is anything like mine, it may not sound all that joyful :-)) to the Lord. This "invitation" is made especially strong in the following lyrics: Make these broken weary bones And this richness and power in the lyrics is the same in all 11 songs on this CD. My personal favorite is the last song, "Days of Elijah". Judging from the enthusiasm and vigor of worship-leader Robin Mark and the choir, I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if it was their favorite as well. So, if you're looking for a good...no, fantastic Praise & Worship CD, this one will not disappoint.

Been a long time since I listened to a good CD. As I listened to song #3 I felt like the HS was conforting & encouraging me. Can't tell you that you will hear - but I did. That one song is worth the price and more.
Very lively flute and violin with bagpipes through out the CD. Real Worship.

A friend came back from a trip to Ireland a few months ago and introduced "Days of Elijah" to the congregation. It became an overnight favorite. I bought the CD, and it just blew my socks off. The opening measures of the first song sent chills down my spine. The instrumental arrangements are superb, and the sound quality--I thought I was listening to a high-budget movie soundtrack. It sounds good with the volume cranked up or set low. The song lyrics are touching and inspiring without being trite or overly repetitive. The songs are easy and enjoyable to sing. Our church's motley band of wannabe rockers can even play most of them!
