Outstanding sophomore release for Jully Black, January 13, 2008
This review is from: Revival (Audio CD)
I'm not exactly sure what the previous reviewer was listening to, but it couldn't be the same cd I had the pleasure of hearing.
While I will admit to buying the cd on the strength of Miss Black's infectious and respectful remake of the seldom heard Billy Davis song "Seven day fool", I found that upon listening to the rest of the tracks on "Revival" I was very pleasantly surprised with what I heard.
Jully Black shows great promise as a writer and as a singer she excels, with such rythmic tracks as "Queen" and "Temporary Insanity", and shows her softer tones well on "Just a moment".
I found that the more I listened, the more I found to enjoy on this cd, and if the rest of the world doesn't take notice of Canada's leading contender fo the R&B crown with this effort, then sadly they will be missing out on something really wonderful.
Buy it, you won't be dissapointed.

Amazing what a PR or record company can do to promote an artist. I don't want to think that Ms. Black wanted to decieve her audience, but this CD lacks any imagination, and aside from her Seven Day Fool (Promo song) there is nothing worth listeninmg to here. Just download Seven day Fooll and save yourself some money.
