This review is from: Revive Us Again (Paperback)
"Revive Us Again" by Walter Kaiser takes a look at 16 revivals in the Bible and makes applications to our own personal lives on how to return to our first love for God.
I heard one speaker distinguish between Spiritual renewal and revival by saying revival involves an entire church, while renewal is more focused on the individual. In the case of this book, it is perfect for spiritual renewal, though it can, if used in a class, might lead to revival. Kaiser definitely is a preacher. Each chapter is written as if it were a sermon. If I took the study, I'd probably be more analytical, but Kaiser's approach makes it more readable. I highly recommend reading this not just for the individual, but for church classes to go through this book together.

An Amazing Book,

Walt Kiaser is a heavyweight that is over overlooked because generally is read in the academic circles. If the church would begin reading Walt Kaiser and doctrinally paper thin preachers and Christian motivational speakers we might actually learn what the Bible is telling us in context of how we need to read it. This is just one example of how reading the Bible in context is much different than how we are told to read the Bible from the likes of Rick Warren.
