Book Description

From New York Times, USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author J.A. Redmerski, comes a dangerous and boundary-pushing new crime and suspense series, In the Company of Killers.

-Reading Order-

Determined to live a dark life in the company of the assassin who freed her from bondage, Sarai sets out on her own to settle a score with an evil sadist. Unskilled and untrained in the art of killing, the events that unfold leave her hanging precariously on the edge of death when nothing goes as planned.

Sarai's reckless choices send her on a path she knows she can never turn back from and so she presents Victor with an ultimatum: help her become more like him and give her a fighting chance, or she'll do it alone no matter the consequences. Knowing that Sarai cannot become what she wants to be overnight, Victor begins to train her and inevitably their complicated relationship heats up.

As Arthur Hamburg's right-hand man, Willem Stephens, closes in on his crusade to destroy Sarai, she is left with the crushing realization that she may have bitten off more than she can chew. But Sarai, taking on the new and improved role of Izabel Seyfried, still has a set of deadly skills of her own that will prove to be all she needs to secure her place beside Victor.

But there is one test that Izabel must face that has the potential to destroy everything she is working so hard to achieve. One final test that will not only make her question her decision to want this dangerous life, but will make her question everything she has come to trust about Victor Faust.

Dear Lord, what have I just read? I'm still trying to come to my senses. My brain is not working, this book completely blew my mind and left me with a void that cannot be filled. It felt too real, like all that was happening to me. I wish I could read it forever, it was that good. I kept rereading some of my favorites parts. Sarai and Victor captured my heart irrevocably. I can't wait to get a hold on my paperbacks. Oh, time go faster, please, I need them now, but TBD is too slow!

What a ride! I really enjoyed the first book, but this one has surpassed all my expectations. Reviving Izabel starts where the first book ended, it has been eight months since Sarai escaped from captivity. She lives a normal" life now with Mrs. Gregory, her friend Dahlia and boyfriend Eric. But her new life is a big fat lie and she doesn't stop to yearn for dangerous life she could have lead with Victor instead, neither she can't stop thinking about killing Hamburg (I finally read his name normally, not like Hamburger :D). But deep inside herself she is aware that she is also doing it to attract Victor's attention.

Her mission failed, but not completely, because Victor came to hotel and rescued her from sure death. That was one of my favorite scenes in the book. I loved their passionate encounter. I was already going crazy waiting for him finally to show up.

Victor grabs my face in both of his hands and shoves my body against the elevator wall, closing his lips fiercely over mine. His tongue tangles with my own, his mouth stealing my breath in a passionate kiss that is what ultimately makes my knees buckle.

Yeah, I was drooling over him through the entire book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Victor is human after all!! Loved this! December 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It never ceases to amaze me just how much information, detail and emotion J.A. Redmerski crams into her books, this one is no different. The book reads almost like a movie script (hint, hint) with the way it brings you in and then throws you for a loop then just flat out shocks you - over and over again.

If you read Killing Sarai you are familiar with the characters - if you haven't read book one in the series, stop reading this and go read it first- you know Sarai is gorgeous, stubborn, strong, independent, and naive. You know Victor is dangerous, sexy, determined and detached. What you don't know is just how human he really is.

... all I want to do is pull her against me and hold her until we both die.

Almost all of my favorite scenes were from Victor's POV, and all of my favorite quotes came straight from his mouth. In Reviving Izabel we see a different side of Victor; we see a more emotional, human and real side to him, but don't worry he doesn't lose that super sexy dangerous, alpha-male vibe of his.

In this book we see Sarai lose that innocence and naivety, she becomes a killer- she becomes one of them. Victor trains her and helps her hone in on her natural born instincts. Together they grow and build a new Order; together they learn to love and trust and feel.

"... I could've let you go a long time ago, but I didn't. I didn't want to let you go then, and I don't want to let you go now."

We see a lot more of their romance in this book. But, don't fret it is still not a loving, touchy-feely book. Some of the scenes are terrifying and dirty and gritty, other scenes are sexy and hot, some are so emotionally charged you're not entirely sure what to feel.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 bloody brilliant stars! December 10, 2013
By Rachel
All I can say after reading this book is...Hold onto your knickers, readers, because you are in for a WILD time! It's precisely because of this series that JA Redmerski is one of my favorite authors not just of 2013 but ever. She is constantly surprising me in terms of the kinds of stories she is willing to tell and the places she is willing to let her characters go, and in Reviving Izabel, the follow up to Killing Sarai, she takes them to some very dark, very dangerous, and very shocking places.

Reviving Izabel picks up 8 months later from where Killing Sarai left off, and it finds Sarai attempting to live a "normal" life. She has a job, she goes to school, she even has a boyfriend but every waking moment of her life is consumed by Victorrrrr (gotta roll my r's like Juewelz told me to lol) the assassin for hire who saved her then left her to live this normal life she has no desire to live. But oh no! Sarai has no intention of going quietly into that good night. She is determined to follow through on her plan to kill Arthur Hamburg because 1. The sick bastard deserves it & 2. She hopes that Victor will find out and realize she can handle his violent lifestyle and more importantly train her to be like him. Because really, this is what it's all about for her. Sarai is never going to be normal. She craves violence and bloodlust in a way that even Victor doesn't. Whatever softness Sarai possessed before she was abducted at 14 has been sharpened into hard edges by the events of her life and her thirst for retribution, which is ultimately why Victor eventually agrees to train Sarai. But alas! Things do not go as planned, the Order that Victor worked for is after them both, and complete insanity ensues. Fun times ahead!

More About the Author

J.A. (Jessica Ann) Redmerski is a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author and award-winner who juggles several different genres. She began self-publishing in 2012, and later with the success of THE EDGE OF NEVER, signed on with Grand Central Publishing/Forever Romance. She has since signed three more deals with GC/Forever for titles THE EDGE OF ALWAYS, SONG OF THE FIREFLIES and THE MOMENT OF LETTING GO. Her works have so far been translated into twenty different languages. THE EDGE OF NEVER made it to #2 on the New York Times bestseller eBook list, and remained on the #1 spot on Amazon for two straight weeks. THE EDGE OF ALWAYS also made the New York Times bestseller list.

Jessica is a hybrid author who, in addition to working with a traditional publisher, also continues to self-publish. The Portuguese rights to her popular crime and suspense series, In the Company of Killers, have already been picked up by one of Brazil's largest publishers. KILLING SARAI, REVIVING IZABEL, THE SWAN & THE JACKAL and SEEDS OF INIQUITY are the first four books in the series, and will not be the last.

Jessica may be a multi-genre author, but no matter what she writes, she thrives on intense characters, out-of-the-ordinary love stories, and edge-of-your-seat twists that give her readers whiplash. And she weaves some, if not all of these elements into every story.

Jessica is a lover of film, television and books that push boundaries and is a huge fan of AMC's The Walking Dead. Her favorite movies are Fight Club, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Devil's Advocate, The Matrix, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Other things on Jessica's wish-list are to hang out with John Noble, Bryan Cranston and Michael C. Hall, conquer her long list of ridiculous fears, find a shirt that she actually likes, and travel the world with a backpack and a partner-in-crime.
