What are you laughing at ? You are laughing at yourself!,

This review is from: Revizor: (The Government Inspector) : A Comedy in Five Acts (Studies in Slavic Language and Literature, V. 9) (Hardcover)
I`m not going to write too much about this wonderful comedy. You must just read it! The society of the one of Russian towns is alarmed by the rumour about the Government Inspector arrival. All the officials are extremely frigtened by this fact. It results in series of comic situations because of many hidden businesses and pervasive corruption.Outwardly funny situation becomes a broad metaphor (also) of our times. The book tends us to think about our faults, to realize that we also make mistakes and sometimes hide the "dark sides" of our souls.Extremely funny and wise! And remember You are laughing mostly at Yourself! |
