Dry marker that doesn't apply evenly.

It might be ok for evening, but for me this is too dark to be a daily wear shade, which is what I was hoping for.

I am fair-skinned and my lips are losing color...like they do for all older women.

I am a white woman, 49 years old, and this is wonderful for me. I am fair-skinned and my lips are losing color...like they do for all older women. It is not a dark color, rather natural on my lips. I love it.

I really like this product. I'm 68 years old (! how'd that happen?) fair skinned and have let my hair to develop it's natural color, which, if I do say so myself, is a gorgeous glossy silver. I used to wear a lot of vivid make-up when I was younger, but truly believe it ages me now. I look younger with no make-up. That's why I like this lipstain. This color is just slightly darker than my natural lip color and used as a liner, it makes my lips look fuller even though I look like I'm just wearing balm over bare lips. I have other brighter shades of this product that I sometimes wear for special occasions. Now comes the part where you all say "She's nuts!" My eyebrows are light brown, fine and somewhat sparse, especially on the outer part. I already mentioned I'm fair skinned. When I had dark bangs, my brows weren't as important, but with my silvery bangs, I need defined (not dark!) brows. I tried all sorts of things: pencils, powders, you name it. One day, and don't ask me why, I put this stuff on my eyebrows. I realize it may be partly due to skin chemistry, but it appears more of a very light brown on the skin visible through the hair of my brows. It's actually VERY hard to see, even with a magnifying mirror. But with this stuff on one brow and the other brow bare, there's a subtle difference. It defines my brows while being virtually invisible. I really hate seeing brow color, so I absolutely love the effect. I finish up with a clear gel "mascara" to slick my brows into shape. This may sound even crazier, but I tried the darker shade "Fate" as eye shadow. Powder eyeshadows irritate my eyes and settle in the creases. Cream eyeshadows don't irritate my eyes, but they settle in the creases even worse than the powders.Read more ›

Just picked this up at a local store. I haven't tried this before, but it applies easily, doesn't easily transfer off, and I like the concept of the lip stain + the balm. I don't wear a lot of make-up so I was looking for a fairly neutral, nude-pink, which is what this looked like in the store. When I put it on though, it was a deep, DARK, wine color. My first thought when I saw it on me was that it reminded of my goth days...it's that dark. It might be ok for evening, but for me this is too dark to be a daily wear shade, which is what I was hoping for. I can't believe how far off the color is from the packaging. (I'm also really confused by the reviewer who said it didn't show up on her lips at all....is she even using the colored lip stain side??? It's SO dark!)

If this was the color the tube showed, I would give this 5 stars, because otherwise I really like it. But it's so misleading. I'd like to try it in another shade, but this seemed like the lightest/most neutral shade of the ones in the store, so I would just be guessing since the outside packaging can't be believed.

UPDATE: I decided to keep trying this product and after maybe 2 weeks, it had dried down a bit to actually look closer to the color on the packaging. However a week after that, it was bone dry and useless. I doubt I used this product more than a dozen times. Not a good value.

This color was really light like my lip line, kind of disappeared and did not make a definite lip line. The Balm at the other end broke off the first time I used it. The felt end has to be pressed down each time to get enough product to the tip. Won't buy again. There are better lip stain products out there.

When I opened this the staining end was mostly dried-up, and the stain applies unevenly- it seemed like an expired cosmetic. I will not buy this product again.

I have very pale skin and like neutrals to enhance the color and outline of my lips. I would call this color a medium neutral pigment. It does not contain the slightest trace of orange or purple tint, and only a whisper of blush rose/brown sugar. It's neither too cool nor too warm, too dark nor too light. The color looks very much like the tube to me, which perfectly compliments the more pigmented areas of my skin. Very natural, very neutral color, for when you want to stain your lips a shade or two deeper, but still have them look "bare". Stick with one coat. That will go on very evenly and dry quickly. Additional coats start to look uneven and blotchy.
