5.0 out of 5 stars The best blowdryer!
This is the THIRD blowdryer in this model that I've owned. The only reason the 2nd one failed was because I dropped it on the floor so many times over the last four years, and the on/off button finally cracked and got stuck in the ON position. The motor is still fine! This model gives you the ultimate choice in heat and fan speeds, coupled with excellent design that...

3.0 out of 5 stars good, but....
I really like this dryer because the unit stayed cooler than other inexpensive dryers I'v used. However, the "prongs" on the diffuser started popping out after just a few months of use. I haven't found a glue that can handle the heat and keep them back in there. Also, I've had the dryer for over a year and a half, and it's now just starting to die (motor seems...

The motor is still fine! This model gives you the ultimate choice in heat and fan speeds, coupled with excellent design that makes it very comfortable to wield in a variety of positions. For the price, it cannot be beat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great hair dryer, March 16, 2006
This review is from: Revlon Matte Chrome Full-Size Turbo Hair Dryer - RV473PK1 (Electronics)
I have bought at least 3 of this same model. I use it every day so it has a life of about a year, which I think is normal. I did have a problem with the most recent one I purchased. The back of the handle (where the rubber seam is) gets extremely hot after only a few minutes. I've never had this problem before. I called Revlon, and they directed me to the manufacturer Helen of Troy 800-487-7273. They told me to just send it back and they would send me a new one!

I love this hair dryer so much I bought it twice. The first one I took from my mother because I was impressed by how quickly it dried my hair. I have wavy/frizzie hair so I blow dry on a daily basis. The temperature and speed are just right and it dries hair quckly.

I haven't found a glue that can handle the heat and keep them back in there. Also, I've had the dryer for over a year and a half, and it's now just starting to die (motor seems labored). I use it daily and have long curly hair - it took a beating. All-in-all, I still recommend it because of the price. And if you don't use a dryer so heavily it'll probably last longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great hair dryer--tons of power!, November 20, 2004
This review is from: Revlon Matte Chrome Full-Size Turbo Hair Dryer - RV473PK1 (Electronics)
I LOVE this hair dryer. I originally bought this product for the diffuser because it was the only one at Target with one (they all seem to have those spot-shot concentrated attachments now). I have always had very long wavy/frizzy hair that I must blow-dry to get straight or use a ton of hair products to get somewhat curly. I wanted an easier way to make it curly so I wanted to try a diffuser. Well I'm sure it works great for most people but I am an idiot when it comes to making my hair curly so it just didn't work good. I decided to forget the curly and started using it without the diffuser as my primary hair dryer. I have no idea about the prong-life of the diffuser since I don't use it, but it seems reasonable to hear that they eventually break.

I hate those weak hair dryers that just feel like heat on your head with no blow. They make my hair an odd-ugly-frizzy-wave that I end up putting in a ponytail. Well, I was in luck because this hair dryer really blows (in a good way!!). I hadn't really noticed how powerful it was until I accidently left it at my parents' house out of town for a week. I had to use my old hair dryer which I thought was the best, most powerful hair dryer I had owned, and was surprised on how NOT-powerful it was compared to the Revlon Matte Chrome! It's got three temperature settings, including a cool setting so you don't have to kill your thumb pressing the button. It still has that button, but I don't use it. I have had it for over 6 months now and it has been nothing but wonderful to me! I recommend this product if you like your hair dryers to blow!!

I've tried many hair dryers and this one is fabulous. It dries my hair in no time and also leaves it frizzless. I love it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad design, not a diffuser, March 15, 2005
By

I had two problems with this hair dryer. First, the diffuser attachment is not a diffuser. It still forces air through at a fairly high rate, which doesn't solve the frizz problem for curly hair. It's still hitting your hair like a blow dryer (not a diffuser), just over a larger area.
Second, the buttons are right where a user would hold it, so I keep accidentally turning it from low to high while using it. I'm returning this one for the Vidal Sassoon VS505, which a friend of mine has and is FAR superior.

2.0 out of 5 stars defective product, October 4, 2004

This review is from: Revlon Matte Chrome Full-Size Turbo Hair Dryer - RV473PK1 (Electronics)
Hair dryer seemed to be a good product at first however, within a few days, the temperature control button stopped working (it would just slide up and down without actually locking into a particular temperature). Shortly after that, the mechanism to actually turn on the hair dryer jammed almost as if it were to lock in place. After a few hours, you would have the ability to turn it on again unexplicably. The on/off problem was really hit and miss; there was no telling when it would happen. I eventually decided to exchange the product but was unable to due to Target's return policy.
