Buff, Long Nails Fast,
By
This review is from: Revlon Post Trauma Nail Treatment, 0.5 Ounce (Misc.)
I read in a magazine that the real reason nails break easily is actually because they are too hard. Using hardening nail polishes makes the problem much worse. Post trauma treatment is supposed to help with nails that have been damaged, but it is also good for making nails softer and more flexible so that they bend rather than break when hit. I work at Rite Aid, so my nails are usually broken and damaged. By the end of my shift on any given day, at least one nail that grew out a bit will break. I figured I'd give this stuff a try, and, to my surprise, my nails stopped breaking so easily. They're now kind of long. Also, when I use just a little of this stuff, my nails look as though I've just buffed them. My complaints that took off the star are a. the price (its $8 at rite aid which, for a full time student who usually only works Saturdays is a bit steep) and b. nail polish doesn't stick to my nails after a couple of weeks of using this. As nice as it is to finally be rid of those annoying little ridges, I really can't see too many people being happy about not being able to use even clear polish (unless they really like the natural look, and they weren't going to wear any nail polish anyway). Avon has this adhesive base coat - if you start using this stuff, you'll have to invest in a bottle of the adhesive base coat, cause only with that stuff did nail polish not wipe right off after about two hours of sitting still, which is a really long time for someone who is usually in motion.

A bit thick once it dries, but does the job,

The thickness of this takes a little getting used to once it is on & dries, but it does the job. Shade of pink is flattering & pretty, but you may need to go over it with a clear polish if you want a finish that shines & has the luster of a regular nail polish. I'd but this product again.

Works well,

Several of my nails has small splits and cracks after doing some heavy yard work. Since "post-trauma" seemed to sum up the situation, I tried it and was pleasantly surprised that it sealed and smoothed the nail surfaces. It has low shine, which is fine with me. It has a slight yellowish tint, however. Clear or pink would be better.
