I've been a fan of NGE for as long as I can remember, and I won't settle for anything but great quality. The figure itself is great and the joints are easy to move and stay in place. The package comes with extra hands that mate up with what ever weapons you want to equip. It comes with an EVA sized machine gun, pistol, bowie knife, and sword (I guess I'm not aware of Unit 01 ever using a..sword, lol) The construction on the sword isn't as great of quality as the rest of the package, but I won't ever use it.

I plan on collecting the rest of the set based on this one purchase.

Great detailing and sculpting. Very good representation of Shinji Ikari's EVA.

Don't buy this figure! You'll want to have all revoltech series if you do! This was the first revoltech I got and now I'm emptying my bank account buying the rest of them. It's perfectly sculpted, it comes with several hands, a second berserk head, a gun, a rifle, a proggressive knife and a sword (I never saw it on the anime). It's perfect in all ways.

No need to really write a review since there are so many others, but here we go....

Figure stands at about 5 inches at the head, six if you count the armor/restraints at the shoulder.

Comes with:
1) Alternate head with mouth open in anger. Code name: Beast!
2) Progressive knife for getting up close and personal with the Angels.
3) Rifle cause it's always bad to hide the target with your own smoke.
4) Open hands and closed fists for alternate posing.
5) Handgun for the gunslinger in all of us
6) Gas pump, erm battery connection. 5 minutes is all you really need anyway.
7) Sword. Never seen in the series but was was probably included in the initial design sketches. I actually love the sword- very Voltron and much more sensible than a giant Eva fighting Angels with a knife.

Pros: Flexible with lots of Revoltech Joints. This means super pose-able as you can see in the product images. Some are complaining about the huge ankle ball-joint, but I can get the Eva to hold some pretty insane poses without a stand (not included). This details how well balanced the toy is.

Color scheme is nice. I have another unit and the metallic/shiny finish is a turn off. Details are fine too.
Proportions are nice. Sometimes when dealing with anime, illustrators play with the scale for dynamic effect. In some shots the Evas are very skinny, in others quite muscular. This figure leans on the athletic side with massive hands. Imposing figure for sure.

Cons: The hip sockets have a strange...roller-bar type fitting that makes the legs spread and close in a slightly weird way. Not a biggie, but it's different than the other Revoltech figures I have (Giant Robo).

The battery connection broke in the first two minutes- soon as Shinji was hit by an Angel's beam and rolled down a mountain side, it snapped. It connects with a small peg in the back that is really meant for showcase posing only. Ooops. The cable itself is made from some kind of wire so it also serves as an aid for getting the Eva to stand in some really dynamic poses. If I was obsessive, I would just cement glue it permanently to the back.

Final thoughts:

Well done again Revoltech. This is my favorite line of figures so I'll be paying attention to this range and probably collecting more once a new movie drops.
It'd be nice if they'd do Angels too. I'm not so keen on the polygonal-shaped Angles but anything that's humanoid is fair game. To make the Angels more attractive, they ought to include some of the NERV defense copters, tanks and fighters. Even still-placed cannons or a building/city playset would be cool. Like, the packaging unfolds into the shape of a cardboard building set.

I'd buy a set of scaled N2 mines and such. Hell, even Misatos car would be cool as an accessory.
AND the progressive knife could easily be fitted into the huge shoulder armor. It could simply have an opening to sheath the knife.

If lost or damaged, I would get another.

I am a huge fan of NGE, and I once owned the entire set of the original Kaiyodo figures of the EVAs. They had multiple hands, multiple weapons, and could be played with! It was also a cinch to pose them, as their joints were firm, but still easily moved. Sadly, I lost those in a fire. When I saw these, I thought these would be much the same! ... No.

First, these are half the size of the original ones, if that. As if that weren't enough, the detailing is poor as well. I suppose that goes hand-in-hand with them being smaller, but it's still a disappointment.

Now, these do have multiple hands for different poses, and multiple weapons (though not as many as the originals did). But the posing on these is more of a pain, as you have to separate joints to turn them, and then lock them back together again. That's great if you don't want to change their poses a lot, but I thought I was buying an action figure. Not a poseable model.

In all, I was disappointed. If you get a chance to get the originals (either the *original* originals, or the metallic repaints in the "launch tube" packaging), you will see exactly what I mean. If you have no wish to see the originals and instead be happy with these, that works too!

I ordered this figure and it came a week before the expected arrival date. The packaging and figure is very nice and the figure is about 5 inches tall. It's extremely posable and comes with many parts to arrange it in different cool poses. The detail is very nice and I do not regret the purchase. My only complaint is the fragility of the figure. It is small and trying to put on the different parts for poses can be extremely frustrating and cause the figure to damage. If you love Evangelion and figures though this is for you.

I always wanted an action figure of Evangelion, and in the midst of all the available models I decided to choose this one. The details and painting on the sculpt is really good, and although it isn't a huge model it truly looks awesome on several standings and with the different weapons, with the sword being the exception cause it looks awful. The only drawback I should point is that the ankle joint is not that flexible and it's hard to leave the unit standing on its feet while you spread the legs.

As stated in the title, it's bendy and it looks nice. For sitting on my model shelf along with my other giant robot toys and models, it works just fine. One thing to note is that swapping hands out was tricky for me; the peg on the "revolver lock" wrist joint and the holes in the variously posed hands aren't necessarily on speaking terms.

As expected from Revoltech, this figure is great! Its representation from anime series is very loyal to the "real" one. I recommend this!
