This review is from: Revolucion -the Chicano Spirit (Audio CD)
Wow!! everyone, this is an essential purchase!! the tracks on this wonderful cd are invaluable and damn hard to find. These songs make up the Chicano sound of the 70's. "Mas Zacate" is a classic latin rock song with lyrics flaring with pride and cultural identity. Also a great double-time section in the middle of the song."Caminando" is a classic like "Oye como va" by "Chango" with a similar style to Santana,a hard to get tune."Sibu Sibu" is a beautiful instrumental with great latin percussion and melodic electric guitar playing."Rompe con todo" a great catchy tune with simple vocals and great latin funk/soul playing is great by Juan Carlos Caceres."Fried neckbones" by Coke Escovedo is a lowrider classic.Aztecas' tune "Mazatlan is a gorgeous latin-soul/latin-funk arrangement with mucho sabor. Every song is good!! this music is very hard to find, believe me.By the way if you like this compilation, you will love the "Back to the barrio"-rare and hard to find classics on cd-compilation. This cd is available from chorizo records.email is www.chorizomusic2003@yahoo.com
