Expat or not, this is a wonderful read,

I have an attraction to anywhere and any experience that is a little different from the norm. This combined with having once been an expat, meant that I was excited to receive this book and it did not disappoint. I very much enjoyed Saffia's writing, which was funny, honest and detailed. And crikey, going through pregnancy in Krgyzstan - Saffia certainly gains my respect!

A great introduction to Kyrgyzstan from a Western perspective,

As someone who is planning on moving to Bishkek, I was thrilled to find Saffia's memoir about her time there. Although I certainly do not intend on getting pregnant while I'm there, her writing was still a great Western perspective into expat life in Kyrgyzstan. Hopefully I can learn to appreciate Soviet concrete too :)

This is truly a must read for anyone planning a trip to the Kyrgyz Republic. Any expat can appreciate the humor in her experiences along with the joys and trials of living abroad. Very insightful.
