As an avid collector of Beatles covers, I've heard many different classical arrangements by Ofra Harnoy, John Bayless, The King's Singers, Les Boréades, London Pops, etc. None go as deep as Paul Schwartz' Revolution. He has completely turned these songs inside-out to expose ever more nuances. Unlike some, the versions here preserve and explore the original intent of the songs. They sound like new classical pieces not just re-imaginations of the Baroque period, for example.
The song selection is interesting. No Yesterday or Eleanor Rigby. Instead, the seldom covered Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!, I Will and I Want You (She's So Heavy). My favorite version is Revolution. It proves the dynamics of a classical ensemble.
This is one of the few cover albums I can actually listen to over and over.

If you like the classic writing of the Beatles and are the type that likes soundtracks or classical music, this CD will surprise you. Quite ambitious. It sounds fresh. Quite excellent. Buy it, Schwartz has obviously worked hard.
