I've nearly finished this book, and find it an excellent read on the string of record breaking flights undertaken in the ealy 1930's with the single engined Lockheed Vega series airplanes. Richard Sanders Allen has a great command of his subject matter, and presents it well with many good quality photographs. If you enjoy aviation's "golden age" you will find this book very satisfying. If you are more technically inclined, there is a bit less of that sort of coverage here, but yet a great discussion of an airplane way ahead of its time.

Great text, many interesting pictures and much real data. To my eyes, let down by too fine a font, such that I had to improve my reading lighting to avoid eye strain. The font is also a bit quirky, maybe in an attempt to connect with the period covered by the subject.jp
