5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST!!!
This book, I feel, is the greatest QBASIC tutorial/reference ever written. It is definitely considered to me a sequel to all the other QBASIC books on the market, in that it seems to take you not only one, but many more steps ahead. I have been looking for a book with even just a little bit of advanced graphics and sound programming. Buying this book got all that and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Authors know QBASIC, but don't know English
This book is entirely unsuitable for beginning programmers, and difficult to read even for experienced programmers. All the information is there, even on advanced topics, but the authors write in mock-Soviet Academese. There is also no reference appendix or any way to quickly look up commands (though QBASIC itself provides that). Here are a couple of sentences from the...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Next Level Up In Basic Programming, July 7, 1999
This review is from: Revolutionary Guide to QBASIC, with Compiler and Disk (Paperback)
This is an amazing book. The scientific knowledge of the author(s) flows through all the pages. The logic used is flawless and the examples are crystal clear.

Most books on basic just walk you through the basics (pun intended) but never get to the nitty-gritty of real world programming. The authors have an amazing insight on structured programming and how qbasic works. Reminds me of the mainframe scientists of the past.

I wish the authors would just write a book on VB since the documentation that comes with the program is also very elementary.

Thank you guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, July 25, 2001

Very, very nice. Forget the petty nitpicking, this is a GREAT book for people serious about using QBasic as a programming language. If it had a true introduction to QBasic for beginners it would be the one-stop-shop for the language. As it is, though, you need to be somewhat familiar in order to appreciate just how good this book is!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Basic Game Programming Book, July 11, 2001
By
Lessel L. Hutchins (Las Vegas, NV United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Revolutionary Guide to QBASIC, with Compiler and Disk (Paperback)
The Revolutionary Guide to Qbasic is by far the best book out there for programming games in basic. It is filled with chapters on sound and graphics that nearly every other book on the market neglects to include. I make games in my spare time and until now have been picking apart other games and asking more experienced programmers how to write complex sections of code. Well, no more! This book has it all: 3-D scrolling, tile based gaming, creating music, and more. Why buy another book about how to make a loop or print data to the screen? This book it truly the best way to advance your hobby in Basic programming.

5.0 out of 5 stars This the one stop book for QBasic, August 22, 1999

This book is great. Despite one person's comment on the authors' English it is not bad. I understood it perfectly. No book will make sense if you carefully select a part that needs another paragraph to make sense. The book has a great disk of code along with info on advanced QB topics. Great book! Buy it!

I enjoyed every topic covered. It opened my eyes a little more on QB. It truly is the next level up from your ordinary QB programming.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST PROGRAMMING BOOK KNOWN TO MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!, July 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Revolutionary Guide to QBASIC, with Compiler and Disk (Paperback)
Wow! I never knew how much you could do in QBasic. I learned that text games are just fine and now I specialize in them. Once I learned the PLAY commands, I was brought into the world of music programming. I now write rap and all sorts of music. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know the best BASIC programming.

This is a great book for the experienced programmer. It contains all the stuff I wanted to make my games awesome on Qbasic. I recommend this book to anyone who read THE BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO QBASIC ore something similar. This book come with a floppy disk too, and has great code. If you want to know how to use the mouse or joystick, use a 3D engine, or have 3D graphics, this book is for you! I'm only 12, but anyone who knows advanced math can understand this book (I mostly did!)
