Simplistic notion, confusing book,

MacCormack begins with a very simple belief that during the years 1643-1648 there ceased to exist any middle ground in Parliament, only extremes. While he does display the overall confusion exhibited by the English Civil War, he also confused this reader on a number of the facts about the period.
