Book Description

1973
These poems are about revolutionaries and lovers-about how, both in revolution and in love, loss of trust and compassion robs us of hope. They are also about (and for) those few embattled souls who remain painfully committed to beauty and to love even while facing the firing squad. “Quick, direct, witty, pungent” (DeWitt Beall, Chicago Daily News).

This review is from: Revolutionary Petunias (Paperback)
I actually purchased the book for one poem with the title of my reviw as a part of it, but ended up reading the entire book from cover to cover several different times without being able to put it down. Needless to say Alice Walker is now my favorite poet, and her writing certainly captures my attention. To merely highly recommend this book does her and this book an enormous disservice. Down Pat
