5.0 out of 5 stars Another home run!!! July 24, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
The B-Side Players are one of my favorite groups. I love their fusion of world music with jazz and R&B. Each of their CDs improve in quality over the previous. Revolutionize is by far their best. Definitely BUY THIS CD!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better and better June 11, 2013
Format:Audio CD
I first heard this band on KPFK Pacifica Radio ([...] around 5 years ago during a fund drive, and selected one of their CDs as a thank you gift when I made a donation. It was so good that I immediately bought their then latest album "Movement", which was great. But they just keep getting better and better. "Fire In The Youth" was a wonderful album, but "Revolutionize" is their best yet. Great music, great vocals, great lyrics, great production. Not a dud track on the album. I'm an old punk rocker who likes a bit of reggae, hip hop and ska, if it's conscious and soulful. This is one of the most conscious and soulful albums I have heard in a long time. The singer has such a soulful voice. If you like stuff like Michael Franti and Spearhead, you should love the B-Side Players. The band include among their musical inspirations Bob Marley, War, Carlos Santana, Poncho Sanchez, Irakere, Steel Pulse, Manu Chao, Earth Wind & Fire, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Gil Scott Heron, Curtis Mayfield, Gregory Isaacs, The Smiths and The Clash. Do yourself a favor and buy this album! I am buying this album for all my friends. You should also check out the frontman Karlos Paez's excellent solo CD "Music Culture Love", which is mellower than most B-Side Players' material, but just as good. And go see this band any time they are playing in our area. They are great live, and are a great band for the whole family. My kids had a blast at an outdoor show the band played recently.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Produced B-Side since Fire in the Youth April 21, 2013
Format:Audio CD
This is a great representation of the latest version of the Tijuana-San Diego ensemble B-Side Players, and the best thing the band has done since Fire in the Youth. Solid music, much of it reggae and cumbia-based, with up-to-the-minute lyrics reflecting the band's read on life today.
