5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD from this group., October 22, 2002

I have to admit I have been listening to these guys for about a decade now, but if anyone wanted to get one of their CD's this is the one to get. Every song is solid, and every one is pure Great Divide. Mike did some of his best writing on this album and it was arranged excellently. Check out the boys website "GreatDivide.Com" if you are interested in seeing them live, but if you want great music to listen to all the time get this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Say Enough!, August 22, 2002

Mike really knows how to write a tune! IMHO this is their best overall CD--not as many standouts, but solid the whole way through. If you get a chance to check out a show I highly recommend it! The lyrics are great and familiar to anyone! I would write more, but there's so much to say! They're rock-country with an emphasis on a rock feel with country sentimentality. Check out their other albums as well plus Mike McClure's (lead singer) solo CD "12 Pieces". It's acoustic and more mellow, but great IMHO! They have a new CD "Remain" that won't be on here 'till November, but is available on their website. I love it as well! www.thegreatdivide.com www.mikemccluremusic.com Check out Mike's diary! It's awesome!

Fun rollicking rockin' country roll, played the way you like it. If you're one of those folks like me who's basically a rock and roller, but likes rock tempered with the melody line of a good country song, The Great Divide is one of the bands you've been looking for (Reckless Kelly is the other). There may not be anything particularly revolutionary about The Great Divide's music, but I doubt there's a song on this CD you won't find yourself singing little bits of after a day or two. They're just so likable it's hard to understand why these guys don't have a permanent slot at the top of the charts.

5.0 out of 5 stars These Guys Rock!!!, April 18, 2001

These Oklahoma boys don't know how to put out a bad song.......every single song on every album is excellent. Why aren't they in the spot-light of country music? They should be sweeping music award shows.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revolution......a musical one, November 25, 2000
This review is from: Revolutions (Audio CD)
These guys take their music to the next level with this album. San Isabella was the first single and it is hauting with a man's search for their soulmate. From the rock of "College Days" to the country of "Amarillo Windmill" to the Gospel of " Mr. Devil" this album is great. Do not forget to play the ghost track after "Mr. Devil"... a little ditty called "Rear View Mirror" It is a great suprise at the end of an excellent album....I love J.J.'s drums & Mike McClure's vocals. Once again McClure has wrote some great songs, with quotes from Edgar A. Poe and lines about college parties & parties out by the old farm pond. This album should of put The Divide on the map and a major draw with the music buying public, it is so much better than alot of stuff on the top of charts.bUY IT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Great Divide plays music for the American People!!!, June 4, 1999
By A Customer

With the top down on the car and the radio blasting...the great divide wails out of my jeep...I was in Austin when a truck next to me had thier window down...I look over to see two hot guys yelling "hey, is that the great divide...play BUT I DO" The band gets you singing about your college days, drinking days, cheating days, and farm days. We've all had those days, and this is the music that tells it all. I have all three CD's and never do they come out of the CD Changer. I couldn't even tell you what the top of the CD looks like. Peace and Love, that Texas girl!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin' country, July 23, 2006

The Great Devide-Where to start. I was hooked by the first song. Yesterday Road is a great song and it is just the start. Every song on this cd is great. The vocals are strong. The music is clear. I love alt-country music. This cd rocks in a great country way. If you like Cross Canadian Ragweed you should like this cd.
