Going to see Todd play is "like a good movie, you talk about it on the way home, and the next morning at work" noted jambase.com, "this kind of irreverent energy is the kind of experience that lasts long after the show is over." Indeed, the effects of Todds sharp writing, ferocious guitar chops, and visionary one-man-band looping, can ripple through an energetic crowd, or stun them into silence.
In an era where many artists are pigeonholed to a musical genre by their own limitations, Todds unique talent derives from his versatility, which opens all doors for style, composition, improvisation and creativity to flow out freely and seemingly effortlessly. In a typical set, one can expect a musical range from highly personable ballads, to upbeat funky-crowd movers, to layered looping compositions, ultimately delivering a spectrum of moods appealing to diverse audiences.
Todds notable history includes jam sessions with John Mayer and Ben Kweller. He also was invited to share the stage with critic favorites Jamie Cullen, Morphine, and Australias Jon Butler Trio, G.Love, The Samples, Ozomatili, Jurassic 5, members of Frank Zappas band, and Particle. Through national touring, Todd has had multiple headliners at House of Blues on both coasts, played The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, and held multiple residencies at distinguished LA clubs, like The Mint and The Knitting Factory.
In creating his premier solo album "Revolving World", Todd combined the power and virtuosity of his band Telepathy, with a new simplicity and directness. Working with engineer Paul Du Grey (Tracy Chapman, Mike Gordon, Leo Keottke, Los Lobos), Todd produced a package of great material, honed with meticulous production, that feels undeniably honest and good. From the emotive rocker "Daydream", to the Sublime style reggae of "Honest", to the naked soul of "Photograph", the album is an eclectic representation of Todds craft. Seasoned producer Jim Tullio (Los Lonely Boys, The Band, Staple Singers) lent his expertise on the sweet and sour "Sing Me Home".
Todd Carey has made quite an impression on fans, critics and musicians alike. The buzz surrounding his current direction and album, "Revolving World" indicates that the sky is the limit for this diverse and energetic artist.

I just bought this record and it's a breath of fresh air! I love it! It's got a great feel good vibe, and each song his a distinct unique vibe. Conjures comparisons to Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Ray Lamontagne, and Marc Broussard. Great musicianship too! This guy can play the guitar like a madman. I don't see how people wouldn't dig this record.
I can't wait to see what this guy does in the future.. I'm expecting BIG things! Dave

After seeing him last night at my college, he truly puts on a good show . I bought his album after the show , and after just listening to it , I was very impressed . I got to meet him after the show , and he was a really cool guy, who was extremely down to earth . I got to interview him for my college's paper and it was cool to sit down with a musician . He's only had like 4 or 5 shows with his band , so this is just the beginning for Todd Carey . He reminds me so much of John Mayer its incredible. Some of the best songs on here are " Photograph" , " Sing Me Home" , and " Simple" . I hope to hear more from him soon . He said he's coming out with a new album in the spring , so I will def . look out for that . He's def. worth the listen .
