5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Compensation Book In Ten Years, October 7, 2004

This review is from: The Reward Plan Advantage: A Manager's Guide to Improving Business Performance Through People (Jossey-Bass Business & Management) (Paperback)
I've assigned this book to my graduate students in Compensation Administration because it's the best of its kind.

I've assigned a second book, though, because Jerry McAdams' scope of work did not include as thorough a treatment of the mechanics of compensation. For that, my students read Richard Henderson's "Compensation Administratin."

If you work in Compensation today, though, and have not read this book, you're really missing out. Its straightforward approach is commendable, and the storytelling (OK, call them "case studies" for more dignity) is outstanding. Rewards are the way to unlock an organization's true potential, and Jerry will tell you how to do it.

Note to Jerry McAdams, though: the book will soon be ten years old...when's the next one???
