Punchline - Rewind EP - Album Review,
By A Customer
This review is from: Rewind (Audio CD)
Jumping up a notch from their previous album, 'Major Motion Picture', Punchline proves their maturity and growth through the four tracks of the 'Rewind EP'. With distinct melodic guitar riffs, to amazing vocal harmony, Punchline's 'Rewind EP' brings out a whole new level of musical linguistics. Powerful guitar chords from Steve Soboslai and Paul Menotiades along with Chris Fafalios' heart pounding bass make up an amazing collaborative effort of passion driven musicians. PJ Caruso's drums accent each and every chord as well as vocal parts making them stand out and have an extra powerful impact. The vocals mesh with each other in a harmonious blend of angst, sorrow and pure passion. The song 'Play' is an amazing compilation of guitar chords and a drum beat that won't allow you to sit in your seat, no matter where you are, you'll get the urge to stand up and 'rock out'. The title track 'Rewind' is the EP's slowest song, driving through emotion and pain, with some what of a resolve felt at the end of the song, it has twists and turns that keep your attention for the entire track. 'Stop' is an amazing display of how well Paul Menotiades' vocals freshly blend with Steve Soboslai's. The song has a 'warm' feeling to it, making you eager to follow the rest of the song. The final track on the EP is 'Power Off'. This angst driven song touches all the boundries of music. From amazing vocal harmony, melodic guitar riffs, complex bass rhythms and awesome drum techniques, the song ends with what seems to be the 'rewind', properly placed and distinctly suitable. The 'Rewind EP' is setting a new standard for complexity and passion in the progressive-punk rock scene. Seemingly other artists have a new standard to live up to, all I have to say is good luck trying.

Punchline Rocks,

This album is amazing, I bought it a couple months ago around April when I saw them live. The band is a group of great guys who really love what they do and they put hard work into this album. Even though this CD only has four songs on it, it's still a worthwhile buy. The guys have great lyrics on this album, great singing abilities (good harmony), and they have their own sound which you can't compare to anything else.If you buy this album, wait until they come to your town and SEE THEM LIVE! Their live show is THE greatest (I know having seen them on several occasions). If you run into them, buy their old CD and DVD - those are essential for any Punchline fan!

This cd is constantly in my discman.....Power Off is just a mind-blowing song. If you haven't heard anything from this band yet, get one of their cds immediately - it's better than most of what's out there today.

Punchline's Rewind is a short and sweet transition between major motion picture and action. It's a nice mix of punk and pop that is fun and easy on the ears. As far as pop punk goes, The Rewind EP hits all the right spots

Simply just one of the best pop-punk EP's out there. This cd has been one of my all-time faves for years. Great guitar parts, great duel vocals, great lyrics. Oh yeah, and its catchy as hell.
