Book Description

“A rapturous, beautiful debut with a romance that seeps into you like a sizzling Georgia summer.” —Amber Hart, author of Before You

Wish You Were Here

One last summer before college on beautiful Tybee Island is supposed to help Sienna forget. But how can she? This is where her family spent every summer before everything changed, before the world as she knew it was ripped away.

But the past isn’t easily left behind. Especially when Sienna keeps having episodes that take her back to the night she wants to forget. Even when she meets the mysterious Austin Dobbs, the guy with the intense blue eyes, athlete’s body, and weakness for pralines who scooped her out of trouble when she blacked out on River Street.

When she’s with Austin, Sienna feels a whole new world opening up to her. Austin has secrets, and she has history. But caught between the past and the future, Sienna can still choose what happens now…

“A fabulous, fresh new voice in YA.” —Kay Lynn Mangum, author of The Secret Journal of Brett Colton

“Laura Johnston scores a touchdown with this coming-of-age love story.” —Kelly Nelson, author of The Keeper’s Saga

5.0 out of 5 stars Laura Johnston is an author to look out for September 27, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition

Rewind To You is a heart-breakingly emotional story about forgiveness and loss and love. I expected it to be a happy go lucky summer romance, and while the romance was sweet and adorable, there are much deeper and darker emotions at play for many of the characters in the story. There is a lot going on in this story and it will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I really loved the setting of Rewind to You. I have always wanted to visit Tybee Island in Georgia, and the book had the characters visiting all parts of the island and it made me want to go even more.

Sienna doesn’t want to be back on Tybee island. She always used to come here with her father, and now he is gone. This book is a tough journey for Sienna. I really felt for her. And while I didn’t always like the choices she made when it came to how she dealt with the Kyle and Austin situation, it is really hard not to like this girl. She is a total sweetheart. Laura Johnston does a fantastic job making you fall in love with her characters. And as much as I liked Sienna, I freakin’ loved Austin. This guy is a white knight if I ever saw one. He has his own issues to deal with of course, but with Sienna he was so wonderful. Honestly, his only downfall is that he was going to be a Gator football player and not a seminole. ;) I will forgive him for this lapse in judgement because I loved him oh so much.

Rewind to You is an onion of a story. And by that of course I mean that it has so many layers. You cannot possibly predict everything that Laura is going to throw at you. It was so nice to see a fresh plotline and story progression. Not to mention I am kind of in love with Laura’s writing. It is beautiful and fresh, and very very moving.

5.0 out of 5 stars SOO FANTASTIC!!!! September 17, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
FAN FREAKING TASTIC! Let's just get that out of the way. This story was such a sad, and beautiful story all at the same time.

I love that this book is told in alternating POV. I love it when a book does that. I love to know what is going on in the head of all my characters. Some books offer that, and some touch on it. This book on the other hand captured it all, and it was awesome.

Sienna - She is a fantastic, and complex character. She is damaged and doesn't really know how to "make things better". She has had tragedy in her life and doesn't seem to be able to forgive herself for things that have happened. She is struggling, and trying hard to be happy, even though her mother seems to have mapped out her life for her.

Austin - Well "swoon"...ahhhh. The minute he comes into the book I fell in love with him. No, I am completely serious. He is just the type of guy I would want my daughter to find and marry some day. I cannot think of one thing I didn't like about him. He has his flaws as well as some secrets. He is trying very hard to make the best out of the life he has. His so kind, caring, compassionate, and down right sexy. (Well at least in my head he is. Johnston does a great job of making a drool worthy character).

There are some other characters in this book that I ended up liking as well. I really liked Sienna's younger brother. Problems and all. He was actually quite funny.

Sienna's mom is my least favorite character. There always has to be at least on character that you don't like right? Sienna's boyfriend Kyle is also a character I felt like hitting upside the head the entire time. He is the type of guy you PRAY your daughter doesn't fall in love with! I just cannot stand him.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful, Heart Touching Romance September 17, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Laura Johnston quickly drew me into Sienna and Austin's story. With the storyline centered on the city of Savannah,GA., it was easy for me to envision Sienna and Austin walking along River Street visiting the shops, and scrolling down Tybee beach. I’ve lived fairly close to Savannah my whole life, so this was a plus for me while reading this novel. Rewind to You also centers around death; the pain of those who are left behind, the struggle they have to deal with after losing a loved one. But it also shows us how meeting that special someone and their love has a way of filling the empty hole of loss in our hearts. And this will be what Austin and Sienna's love does for each other. Their love will be the healing and the forever kind.

Sienna was very naive at the first of this story. And this was hard for me, because I like to read and connect with a strong heroine. I did get a little impatient, wanting to see Sienna lift her chin high, straighten her back, and kick some butt with the situation between her mother and jerk of a boyfriend, Kyle. But I have to admit, I love seeing Sienna grow into her own, independent self through this story. And her love for Austin gave her the strength. I enjoy seeing love that encourages and builds one another. To me, that's romance, true love. And Laura Johnston delivered that kind of beautiful romance with Sienna and Austin.

Austin; I fell in love with him from the get go. Yep, this boy is beautiful inside and out. I do love a football star. Austin has had a horrible family life, but with everything he had to endure while growing up, he is an amazing guy. This boy had me shedding tears for him. Especially toward the end with what happens between him and his father.

Rewind To You is a beautiful, heart touching romance.
