Editorial Reviews

This animated children’s fable celebrates the Día de los Reyes (Day of the Kings) with the Biblical story of the Three Wise Men, who journey to see the Christ child during the reign of King Herod. However, when their journey is hindered by the antics of the Devil, Prince Olbaid, and his demon Mauricio, the Three Kings comically defeat the mischievous Mauricio and Prince Olbaid again and again. A charming comedy with great music and songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tres Reyes Magos December 5, 2004
Format:DVD
I saw this picture over 20 years ago when my children were from 2-6 years old. Since the first time we saw it, it became a tradition in my home every Three King Days to see the movie. All the family sit and enjoy it.

Since I have internet I have been searching for it without success.

I will buy it for my 6 y/o grandson who lives in Houston Tx.

I hope it will help him to learn about our traditional "Día de Reyes" [Three King Days].

I strongly recommend every latin american that celebrate this festivity to buy this DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars LA PRIMERA PELICULA ANIMADA MEXICANA April 12, 2007
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic Animated Masterpiece From Mexico! December 17, 2008
Format:DVD
Los Tres Reyes Magos is one of the best animated films in recent memories, This animated adventure involves The Virgin Mary & Joseph (potrayed in the film as Native Mexican Indians) travelling to Bethlehem, & The 3 Kings (Los Tres Reyes Magos) following The Star of Bethlehem towards where the Holy Infant lays. Very excellent musical score & songs including "Las Posadas" in the regonal music styles & folk costumes of Mexico ( Scene 1 Oaxaca, Scene 2 Michoacan, Scene 3, Veracruz, Scene 4 Durango,Chihuahua,Aguascalientes,Sonora (La Frontera or The Frontier) & Scene 5 Jalisco.) Use Caution there are some scenes that might be frighting to younger viewers as well as some scenes that some might find as "politically incorrect" Still this is a great piece of animation & I highly recommend it to all.

2.0 out of 5 stars Be aware December 10, 2008
Format:DVD
I bought this DVD in hopes of showing it to my students. But after viewing it I cannot show it with the English subtitles because there are many words that might be offensive. In today's system it would probably be rated PG due to language which includes hell, one damn, stupid, and idiot many times. I like the fact that the creators kept the message of the Christmas story and used it within the Mexican culture. However, if you plan on showing it in a school, I would recommend informing the parents.
