5.0 out of 5 stars A DAMN fine record.
Tell ya what, folks, when it's sunny out, this is the record I throw into my deck and crank when I head to work. A great album for a 23 mile commute, RFTC kicks off with the rockin' "Eye on You" and won't let go.

2.0 out of 5 stars Somebody shoot me before I buy this album AGAIN.
Honestly, what was I thinking? The Mighty Mighty Rocket Disaster must have crashed its '68 Camarro into Planet Suburbia and gotten seriously wasted on red tips & cosmos. I know you don't care of course; you still think RFTC is the greatest thing to come out of San Diego since pink flamingoes and jujitsu. For mine own part, I can't take it anymore. I can't. Tell ya what, folks, when it's sunny out, this is the record I throw into my deck and crank when I head to work. A great album for a 23 mile commute, RFTC kicks off with the rockin' "Eye on You" and won't let go.

Rocket are at their best on RFTC. "Panic Scam", "When in Rome" and "Back in the Stand" have awesome riffs, keeping your head nodding and your booty shakin. The slower songs like "Break it Up" and "Let's get Busy" are no less raucous with lyrics that impart all that's good ( and bad ) about life and love.

It's too bad Rocket doesn't get more radio play; they're better than half the weak bands out there today. I can't reccommend this cd (or Scream, Dracula, Scream!) highly enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars They just keep on gettin' better and better, November 15, 1998

The best album yet by the best Rock n' Roll band in the world. Yes, this album kicks a@#! Rocket's explosive blend of showmanship and old fashioned rock n' roll will get even the most shy of party-goers up and dancing. This band is soooo cool, that they actually put on an entire nationwide tour for free! BUY this album...BUY a Rocket T-shirt..and BUY a ticket to their next show in your area. you won't be disapointed.

less noisy than their previous albums and LPs, speedo's love of old stax recordings is obvious on this album. solid writing and another great performance from the band makes this album a must-have for anyone who worries about the state of music in the age of Bush and Tonic

Rocket From The Crypt is the best thing to come out of San Diego ever! These guys give ever ounce of rock and roll strength through their instruments and this album once again proves that Rocket From The Crypt are pioneers in the music age of the past decade and only time will tell the truth of these guys greatness in their music style and writing. The first song starts right off the bat with backing up vocals with chick Holly GoLightly called 'Eye on You' and then after that the vintage guitar riff of an old blues slide telling you the album is going to an virtual rock and roll freak show! The tracks 3 and 4 are more punkier tunes that last around a minute and a half to two minutes (I Know)(Panic Scam). Then the song goes into another great track (Made For You) and next a slow song of a woman's lasting kiss witch only sounds good when done by Rocket From The Crypt (Lipstick). The next 7 songs go the same way and the album stands on a new ground for Rocket From The Crypt since their last album - SCREAM DRACULA SCREAM was an absolute classic! This album is a really good listen and if you haven't even heard of this band than I suggest you get some tracks to listen to because you won't be disappointed in this bands view of rock and roll MAYHEM!

4.0 out of 5 stars WILL ROCK YOUR SKULL OUT!, August 19, 2006
This review is from: Rftc (Audio CD)
I don't know what this is but I like it. Is it punk, hard core, metal? I don't know yet its a rock and roll locomotive.

The music is nasty, in your face, very catchy and melodic. It talks about "dicks on a dog" so it is also very intellectual.

The liner notes are bizarre and the band members do not have names. Perfect!

All the songs are very good.

The cover art sums up the material perfectly...some wild caged animal breaking loose and exploding at ya. That is what this music is.

I have listened to RFTC other works and this is their best. The other stuff is too punk. This is more like NY Dolls/Areosmith raunch.

This cd rocks. That is it. NO s#*t about it. All these bands out right now that bore the hell out of everyone take notice. Its no longer boring time! Now, ive met you jewel a few times and you really nice. But its time to rock now. Thank god for rftc or else we'd be so depressed we'd have to go take out our local radio stations for playing that stuff. Really though, im from san diego, and this band rocks. This cd is relentless. If they come through your town go and see these guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a competent band with energy!, June 23, 1998
This review is from: Rftc (Audio CD)
If you are tired of the lethargic, slacker sound of the 90's (Sublime, Jewel, Paula Cole) that has almost single-handedly killed Rock & Roll, you must own this record. At a time where it has become acceptable for bands to produce poorly written songs that are also poorly executed, RFTC demonstrates that people can still play and rock at the same time!

Imagine if the Specials met the Bay City Rollers while in tour with Black Sabbath. The spawn of this union would be Rocket From the Crypt. The band has a deep sound : horns, a thumping bass line and dueling guitars. RFTC is a mature piece - more polished than Scream Dracula Scream or Circa Now - but just as invigorating. If RFTC keeps putting out alblums like this, sign me up for the fan club.

I know you don't care of course; you still think RFTC is the greatest thing to come out of San Diego since pink flamingoes and jujitsu. For mine own part, I can't take it anymore. I can't. Jeez Louise, the rockets were my most favoritest band in the world until the fateful day I played this record FORWARDS at the REGULAR SPEED on my tape deck and experienced a very impolite awakening. Now, Speedo isn't a completely worthless human being. There's always Jehu, and if you're looking for bargain disks I seriously recommend Reis' solo project: Back Off Cupids. Besides that, I can't help you.

So why don't you kill me already?
