Sound quality poor, heart rate monitor substandard,

This review is from: ibiza Rhapsody HHH1A-2G Trainer Sport MP3 Player with Pedometer and Heart-Rate Monitor (Electronics)
I purchased this for my husband because he wanted a heart rate monitor for his "spinning" class. Instead of purchasing a wrist monitor, I thought this would be a great alternative because he can listen to the MP3 player and FM radio as well. The FM radio does not tune in well, plus when he brought it to the gym, the volume wasn't loud enough to cover the music that they play on their speakers. You can hear it fine at home, and he believes it may be fine for someone who walks/bikes/runs by themselves. The heart rate montior is not good for spinning class either, because you have to press buttons, to get the heart rate and it just isn't practical to do that during a class. I returned this to Amazon, with no problem.

This is a great little mp3 player. I am doing a lot of running and working out now, and the pedometer/stopwatch function and heart rate monitor functions are very useful for that. It's also small and inobtrusive, and pretty sturdy. I haven't had to test its water resistance, but it's taken a few drops and bangs along the way. The sound quality is crisp and clear, and the interface is simple and easy to use. While battery life is such that, if you're wearing it while working out for an hour or so and listening to music, even with daily workouts you can go for over a week without needing recharging.
If I could make any suggestion or addition, it would be the ability to set up playlists on it so I could have different playlists for different workouts, but that's a fairly small thing and that aside this is pretty much the ideal mp3 player for jogging and working out.

This unit was mis-labeled: should have been Haier and not Ibiza
A nice little unit not much bigger than a Shuffle, but has a screen. Is very sweat-resistant for those runners out there. I quickly replaced the headphones; but just as a matter of preference. As for use with Rhapsody-to-go, you have to make sure you use the provided disc, because even though we have a Rhapsody account, and even though it recognizes the device properly, you can't "register" the device until you use the version of Rhap. with the drivers bundled together. The Rhapsody-to-go service is only a couple of bucks a month more than regular Rhapsody FYI. And you can only register up to three devices for use with the service (not unlike iTunes). Outside of Rhap., I like the unit 'cause you can drag-n-drop right to the drive letter in Windows Explorer, eject, and it creates the library on the fly. Good for the price. The heart-rate piece works fairly well, too.
