5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Masterpiece
Most probably this is the best album ever recorder from Barry White. I do not have enough words to describe the magnitud of the talent of the "Maestro" Barry White to produce and record the music this album contain. Mr. White allow you to enjoy his music with out any vocal ingredient in order you can truly appreciate his genius. I had the opportunity to get this CD...

What woman doesn't love this music. I've had my vinyl album since it came out but decided to replace it with a CD. It's old and mostly instrumental but still good. "Barry's Theme" is my favorite. Feeling nostalgic? Like Barry White? You'll enjoy the CD.

Mr. White allow you to enjoy his music with out any vocal ingredient in order you can truly appreciate his genius. I had the opportunity to get this CD recently but I have been looking to get it for many years. I even bought the LP with the same tile and presentation 5 years ago at Sou Paulo Brasil. Now finally it is here for everybody to enjoy it. If you like soul Music and Barry White music this is truly en esencial CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST, FULLEST AND GLORY, July 23, 2003

THE ALBUM RHAPSODY IN WHITE IS THE MOST WONDERFUL ALBUM EVER MADE. RHAPSODY IN WHITE SOUNDS LIKE THE MUSIC OF THE HEAVEN.
THE LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA KNOWS WHAT MUSIC MEANS. THE GLORY OF MUSIC WAS BORN THE DAY THAT RHAPSODY IN WHITE START TO SOUND.
"LOVE THEMES" ITS A BEAUTY AND "I FEEL LOVE COMING ON" ITS THE MUSIC ITSELF.

4.0 out of 5 stars Barry Scores, November 28, 2000
This review is from: Rhapsody in White (Audio CD)
The Love Unlimited Orchestra is Barry White's backing "band" and they laid down the swirling, lush orchestration behind all of his great hits. Although Rhapsody In White is credited to the LUO, it is basically a Barry White album. He does his usual duty of writing, arranging and producing. The album sounds like it could be the soundtrack to a lost 70's blaxplotation film and is buoyed by the massive number one single "Love's Theme" which also became Mr. White's signature number. Other standout cuts include the title track, "Midnight & You" & "Don't Take It Away From Me".

5.0 out of 5 stars The Love Unlimited Orchestra at its best, July 27, 2003
This review is from: Rhapsody in White (Audio CD)
Not only could Barry sing, but he could write, arrange, and conduct music just as beautifully. Just listen to this awesome CD. Each song is a brilliant masterpiece. My favorite has always been the title track, but I love all the others too. "Barry's Theme" starts the album off perfectly, while "Love's Theme" (Barry's first number one hit) closes it out. "Midnight and You" and "Baby Blues" absolutely ooze with sensuality and sex. These songs are both romantic and uplifting. You'll enjoy this CD alone in the dark, or driving on the highway. If you love good music, it's a must.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rhapsody in White C/D a disappointment., November 10, 2009

I have the vinyl LP of Rhapsody In White. It's loaded with wonderful songs...10 of them . I decided to order the CD version. What a huge disappointment that was!! Only 8 songs of which only 3 are from the original LP release. I think this is very misleading to a buyer when they use the same cover from the LP for the CD. I guess I should have tried to find out what songs were on this CD before I ordered it but how would I have figured out this rip-off when they made the CD version using the original cover of the LP version?? As with ALL of Barry White's music regardless, you will enjoy whatever songs are on any album. I guess I will have to search for all the songs from the Rhapsody LP, buy them from either iTunes (and that still doesn't have all those songs either) or buy other CDs and then put them on a playlist to burn my own "Rhapsody In White" CD. Anyway, whoever had the "bright" idea of this CD rip-off shame on you!!

I had a little trouble deciding whether I should put three or four stars here. Of the eight songs, five of them are "background" music that easily fades one into the others. But only one of them is a clunker that needs to be hauled away. The other three songs are great! I have caught myself humming along to them, tapping my foot, etc. Romantic? Why not?

I cannot begin trying to express the words in my heart to really try and explain about this album. Barry White is like no other. I remember him saying all to well that he had encountered some trouble early on in his life time. And I beleive I heard him say that he had a minor brush with the law, and he said; I recall of being in a predictment in his Life at this time, and he said he remember that he heard 'Elivis Presley sing a song, that he said make a difference in his lfe that day forward...and the name of that song, was ( "It's now or never"). However Barry really made a great singer and record producer, that never will be forgotton.

I just came in from work one afternoon with a cold soda in my hand, as I entered my apartment I was so tried and worn out from work, I just flopped down right on to the couch. And flip the news on. And one of the fastest bundle of sad news hit me dead in the face from the news station. I heard All time great singer of Love and ballard songs.....Barry White died today. It tore me apart into tears I shedded and my cold soda went another direction. Here is a man that I really looked up to as a teenager growing up and have known Barry for many many many many long down through the years of my life, ....NOW HE IS DEAD!

It really threw me for a loop, BIG TIME!!! I loved his music. This CD here one among just about all of them that I loved so much I still play it today, sometimes it is very hard for to listen to. It is a great CD...although I still have it in a cassette form as well. I cannot expres in my real word what it means to me. It has such an IMPACT of all of the 1970's music. I miss Barry White as well. May God bless his soul.
