Delivery came on time .I have small comment on packing .The box was almost open .Delivery guys did not let me to open in front.Luckily there was no big damage except minor dent on bottom.Amazon need to work little extra effort on packing especially to protect the gas control knob I did not see any protection and it could be broken with small force and I clearly saw minor scratch on .
Installation part is easy .I had old 15 years water heater so I went to Lowe's and bought water heater complete installation kit with flexible pipe .It worked great start right away.No noise , need any match and lighter for ignition .worked great .I like Rheem

The Rheem 22V40SF was received in good condition, well packaged. Shipping took a little longer than I would have liked but it was "free shipping". The unit looks great and was fairly easy to install. The only problem I encountered was trying to light the pilot; took awhile but once it lit it worked fine. The water does take a little longer to heat up than it did with the old water heater but I guess that has to do with the energy efficiency rating of the new heater; my guess. Of Note: My local code required the old water heater to be raised 19" off the garage floor since it was an unsealed unit requiring manual lighting of the pilot however, with the new sealed Rheem unit with the pilot light ignition switch it no longer needs to be raised off the floor. So if you currently have a short water heater due to this requirement you may choose a long water heater if you prefer and set it on the floor; I noticed when shopping for water heaters you have more choices available with long units opposed to short units. Overall I'm happy with this purchase and Amazon has always come through on all my purchases this far.

Well my wife complained that the kitchen had no hot water so I went to the attic of a two story home and found both water heaters leaking into the pans. No major leaks just drips so I started looking and picked amazon based on price and brands I could not find locally.
The water heaters arrived and I inspected both before signing off, and had no problems. Dragging two water heaters with help, teenage boys do have uses, into the attic and the old ones down was a chore. I ended up replacing pans and installing valve in outlet line while doing the installation. As for the new heaters a month into service and no issues. Hooking them up was a not bad except for bending the copper lines for the inlet and outlet. The original plumbers did a poor job of installing the lines too close to the water heaters requiring tight bends. A little more thought and it would have been much easier. I replaced some steel nipples in the copper lines with brass, tested the heater, then started filling. The gas installation was the easier, that installation was done much better on the original build and required very little more than reattaching the line and checking for leaks. Once filled I purged air form the water tank until sinks ran water. Then fired up the gas following the procedures on the heater. The worst part of their design and I am not sure what alternatives would be, is trying to find the pilot light for ignition to view, while striking the automatic igniter. I had to lay flat on the floor to look through inspection port and still missed it on one heater it was already lit when I was getting ready to give up.
