This new unit is replacing the almost same model from Rheem that lasted 18 years without any maintenance so I expect the same durability from this water heater.

Buy Plumbing shipped the product very quickly and got home well packed and in perfect conditions. The installation was easy (you have to have some tools and basic knowledge of what you are doing),just check (and follow!) the installation instructions and your local regulations.

Since there was a $150 difference between ordering this water heater from Amazon versus getting it at my local retailer, I picked Amazon. I was a little uneasy ordering a water heater from the internet but when it arrived it looked fine, that is until I fully took it out of the box.

It had a sizable dent by one of the bottom screen vents. The box barely had a mark on it, but apparently something gave it a nice whack.

I figured it would be a big pain to try to ship this thing back and since I believed the dent would not affect it's operation I went ahead and had it installed.

It's been a week since it has been installed and the water heater works great and has no problems. It's also much more efficient then my old 40 gallon model it replaced.

RHEEM 50 Gallon NATGAS Water Heater arrived in excellent condition in a timely manner and at a great price.
the installation was easy the quailty of the product appears very good.
The end result was perfect.
Only demerit to the the entire experience is Buy Plumbing chooses to use a shipper which requires buyer to be present to sign for item.
There was no option available to waive this requirement.
I only learned of this requirement after the item was in transit leading to an unexpected hassle to meet a shipper's delivery requirements.
If my mother were to need a new water heater, I would buy this item, from this vendor - the product, the transaction and price were great.

I did a lot of research trying to find the best water heater for the lowest price and this unit is what I ended up getting. It was shipped very quickly and was in perfect condition. I installed it myself with no problems. I've had it for a few months and is working great.

Researced hot water heaters for days before pulling the trigger on this one. Was considering tankless, solar, and energy star models. In the end, I just wanted a good, reliable supply of hot water and this heater does the job for a very low cost. Simple installation. Simple operation. Massive quantities of hot water and a very fast recharge. It would have been easy to spend 3X the money for another model, but this one satisfied every need I had.

I ordered this one for my house when the old one started leaking. I got a call from the shipper a week after I purchased it and he said the box was torn and the tank was visibly dented. Not sure who is at fault, the shipper or the supplier, but I returned it. It did take almost 3 weeks to get my money back. I'm gonna give it 4 stars because I know they are decent heaters. Little known fact, G.E. sells water heaters at the national home improvement store, they are made by Rheem.

Apparently all AMAZON has is dented Rheem water heaters. Over a 2 week period I have ordered and returned 3, that is THREE Rheem water heaters all which arrived DENTED, and damaged in other ways. On at least one the pressure release valve was bent in the mounting hole, and the special pressure tab was all wrinkled and the edges were rolled over. Amazon's response was fantastic, fast and professional. They even compensated me for the hassle. I will definitely order from Amazon again, but CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED on the water heaters. Since the first box was obviously damaged, and the second two were damaged very little, it made me wonder if the other damaged water heaters were being repackaged and reshipped hoping that people in a jam would accept them. My water heater is only leaking slowly and I have a dam around it in case it breaks. I can wait to get a good one. But with 3 strikes, Amazon is not the place to by a Rheem water heater. They have shipped me a tread mill in the past just fine! So maybe the problem is with their supplier. But I am done investigating this one.....

I researched many water heaters by Rheem and other manufactures before settled on this one. Delevery was right on schedule and the unit arrived in perfect condition. Installation was a breeze, only one small hicup durring the install, the fittings that connect the water lines were the opposite of what i had. One quick trip to the hardware store and the problem was resolved. Once the installation was complete, about 2 hrs, the unit filled and the gas fired up without any problems. This unit opereates very smooth and quiet. I have the setting just below the "A" setting and with a family of four we never have a lack of hot water.

We have this heater installed for more than two months. No problems at all. I think it's the best product. Eventhough we had to pay shipping, it came out cheaper than the other available in stores.
It took little longer to get it delivered but customer service at buy plumbing was very good.

In the beginning we were little hesitant to order it online but because it was cheaper(Compare to in store buying) we took a chance. It was right decision we made. I will recommend this product to the others.

Even though it's not considered an energy saver, replacing a 14-year old hot water heater with this one was clearly a good choice. Having never done this before, the contractor who installed it said the Rheem brand puts out a good line of products. I've had to turn the temperature a bit lower, and am pleased with that.
