Eddie Rabbitt (born Edward Thomas "Eddie" Rabbitt, November 27, 1941 - May 7, 1998) was a fantastic musician who could write songs and perform; he always put so much genuine heart and soul into his songs and I really like that! He also had great success as a crossover artist going from country to pop; that's very impressive. These songs for download are a nice sampling of Eddie's artistry and each one of them is a winner! The sound quality is very good, too.

"You Don't Love Me Anymore" is a terrific ballad and Eddie performs this faultlessly. He handles complex tempo and key changes seemingly effortlessly; I admire that! The melody fits in perfectly with his vocals, too. Two of Eddie's big, big cross-over hits were "Drivin' My Life Away" and "I Love a Rainy Night." "Drivin' My Life Away" is excellent; Eddie makes this shine. "I Love a Rainy Night" got lots of airplay when it was originally released; just one listen will tell you this is a little masterpiece by Eddie. "Suspicions," another cross-over tune, is poignant and Eddie handles this with panache; the track set then ends with Eddie Rabbitt performing "Kentucky Rain." "Kentucky Rain," a country ballad co-written by Eddie and Dick Heard is also poignant and Eddie delivers this without ever letting go of a superfluous note!

Eddie Rabbitt may have left us all too soon; but he lives on through his music. Diehard fans will probably have most if not all of this music already, so I think this music is best geared toward the casual fan or newcomers just discovering the artistry of Eddie Rabbitt. I highly recommend his music.
