Immediately pulled over to check the front rack and found it to be seemingly secure.

The entire trip, through rain, storm, high winds (felt the car move a bit though), what have you, these babies locked in place and didn't move an inch.

Will be trying to get replacements from the company but I have not found an email site.

Researched and ordered the appropriate model for my 2013 Nissan Frontier along with the correct roof rack pad and clamp kit. Followed the installation instructions to the letter. Checked and double checked that the fit was secure. I can bench press 400 lbs and applied pressure vertically and horizontally and the racks would not budge. I am not a first time handyman and have assembled and installed various gadgets my entire life without catastrophe. Embarked on a camping trip with my sons and 300 miles down the Interstate, the rear rack flew off and was promptly crushed by a following tractor trailer. Immediately pulled over to check the front rack and found it to be seemingly secure. Tightened the mounting screw to the max again to be sure. Checked every day for the next few days with no sign of loosening. One week later, I was completely shocked when we left a restaurant to find the front rack disengaged and lying loose on the roof. It was our first day in the mid 80's and I can only assume that the resulting expansion in metal caused the rack to release itself.
Cosmetically, they look wonderful but a waste of money because I never even got to use them to carry my canoe. I am considering reinstalling the front rack and securing it by drilling and tapping into the roof of my truck. Not exactly what I would like to do but the "custom fit" clamping system of the manufacturer is a joke.

I Installed these and it took about 45minues to do by myself. The instructions were terrible, but it was not hard to figure out. The noise is minimal to none. The only time I could hear a whistle was when my sunroof was open, but you had to turn the radio off and listen for it. I love the silver look, as my car has silver trim. I check the racks weekly and they have not come loose. I would by again.

I agree with the other review - poor Rhino packaging. Or maybe it is the Amazon shipping that is to blame? Unlike practically every other Amazon purchase I've ever made, the unit came shipped as the stock box rather than inside another. A hole developed during shipment, and some parts - which were inexplicably loose rather than bagged - fell out in transit. Luckily in my case it was just a couple washers easily replaceable from Home Depot. But if it had been the specialty bolts or the square nuts, I would have been about as pleased as the 1-star reviewer.

To protect/secure the clamping mechanism, the legs come with plastic cover plates which include locks. Each lock is conveniently keyed the same, and each comes with a pair of keys. 8 identical keys is a bit overkill. I wouldn't say the plastic covers are high-security though; they could probably be popped off with a screwdriver despite the locks. Which means if a thief had the special Allen wrench, it wouldn't be difficult to walk off with the entire 2-bar assembly.

And speaking of security, what they don't tell you is that accessories for the Aero system (bike carrier) slide into a T-slot in the bar whose sole "protection" is a plastic endcap. A thief could easily pop off the endcap and slide bike+carrier right off the bars. They sell lockable endcaps, but of course this is extra.

Once fully assembled, the system seems very solid. I bought mine with the Chevy Volt fit-kit, and considering that Thule put a re-engineering hold on theirs and is off the market, my choices were slim. But I'd say that Rhino got their design right the first time.

Great Product. I moved from Florida to Seattle and needed more cargo space in my tiny Honda Civic Coupe to Drive the 3,000 miles there with all my crap. After weighing several options, I decided to get a Rhino Rack 2500 roof rack and Thule 682 Sidekick and pray I made the 7 day journey. These things never Budged! The entire trip, through rain, storm, high winds (felt the car move a bit though), what have you, these babies locked in place and didn't move an inch. They were easy to install (once you understand how it works, and follow the instructions). Remember, Measure twice, Cut once.
I liked that they locked securely as well. Didn't have to worry about someone tampering with them or stealing the stuffed cargo bin with half my belongings. Make sure you get the Roof rack pad and clamp kit!
Once we got to Seattle, I removed the Cargo bin and roof rack system, and after a good wash I couldn't tell there was ever a Roof rack attached to the roof. I will say it did look kinda funny driving a small Honda civic coupe with a cargo bin about the same size just cruisin' along. Great trip though, couldn't have done it without this purchase.

I purchased this system for a Honda Civic 2 years ago. Measurement for installation was terrible. Measured for each cut three times and still did not come out to the correct dimensions.. Finally measured the middle insert on the underside of the bar and both bars inserts (Installed by the company) were not centered. I wasted 3 hours before figuring out the error was not mine but the company's. Used the first year and all went well and removed for the winter. When I went to place them back on this year I had a similar experience with the clamps not wanting to stay in place and popping off. When I looked at all the clamps together there appears to not only be a plasticized area on the clamp BUT ALSO a rubberized strip on the inner aspect of the clamp. On 2 clamps this strip was missing. The clamps and strips are not listed on the parts list at all so you are unable to replace any of these materials and the company is in Australia. Will be trying to get replacements from the company but I have not found an email site.
