2.0 out of 5 stars Not For Pop Up Tent Trailer
If you have a Pop Up Tent Trailer Pass on this set of chocks.
This pair Would Not stay in place on Grass. I have another set of chocks
that work great. Not his pair.
Now that I know which pair work the best I will buy the other brand.

This review is from: RhinoGear 11930 Tire Hugger Wheel Chock - Set of 2 (Misc.)
It's beyond me how others think they should have gotten 4, or one reviewer thinks she only received one. It's clear from the description that this is a PAIR of wheel chocks, not two pair, not one chock. The 2 are NOT "screwed together" as mentioned in another review. The manufacturer attaches them with a plastic fastener called a "christmas tree." It's similar to the plastic fasteners that hold interior door panels on a car. This is removable; the 2 chocks are separated for use. Granted, it's a little difficult to pull them apart, a pair of pliers helps. It would be dangerous to leave the 2 wheel chocks attached as shipped to try to prevent a car or RV from moving.

Now for some actual, useful information about the wheel chocks. I bought these to stabilize my cars when jacking them to service brakes, tires, etc. My garage floor is painted with epoxy paint. Even with the anti-slip additive in the paint, several other wheel chocks I have tried always slipped and moved on the epoxy floor. These Blitz Tire Hugger Wheel Chocks have held firm on the floor every time. As with any wheel chock, it's important to make sure it's firmly wedged between the tire and the floor. A quick firm kick to wedge the chock in place is all I ever need on my slippery garage floor.

I don't think these would be useful outdoors on an unpaved surface, such as with an RV or trailer in the woods. But then, it dozen't seem that's how they are being marketed anyway, and I haven't tried them in this application. For working on a car with a jack or ramps, these chocks do the job.

4.0 out of 5 stars There's one reason to own these..., October 29, 2008

...they're orange.

I'm not so forgetful that I need a full blown checklist when I change my oil. I've never forgotten to replace the drain plug, or put in oil, etc. However, black tire chocks can sometimes do a good job of... uh... hiding themselves.

Seeing the bright orange chocks serves as a reminder that you're not totally done yet.

As far as durability goes, I have to agree with other reviewers here. If you're like me, and go all out to ensure you're doing things "the right way", they're fine. Would I trust them behind a small to medium sized car with a working parking brake? Sure. Would I trust them to keep a full size pickup with a bad emergency brake on ramps? Never.

What's to say about wheel chocks? These are light, compact, and do a nice job when I put my minivan and sedan up on a ramp to change my oil. They don't slide on my asphalt driveway. Despite the Amazon picture, the 2-pack means TWO chocks NOT two sets of two.

4.0 out of 5 stars Work Well and prevent a midsize car from rolling., September 20, 2011
This review is from: RhinoGear 11930 Tire Hugger Wheel Chock - Set of 2 (Misc.)
I've had these for a few years now.
Mine are safety orange.
placed behind the rear 16" tires of My car they prevent it from rolling anywhere while I have the frontend jacked up.
I have forgotten to remove them more than once and they prevented the car from moving while in reverse.
They are hollow but quite sturdy and strong regardless of what some "reviewers" have stated. They have frequently held the car where it is supposed to be and I've had to move the car forward when done to un-chock the car.
For a normal automobile, these work great!

(update:10/05) Used these again for the last 2 weekends doing ATF changes on the cars. Still work great Preventing Mazdas from rolling backwards while up on jack stands. I noticed some others have commented about the color black vs orange...shouldn't matter... these are not road markers people. These work fine for what they are intended for. A little extra protection. Don't expect it to hold a car without brakes on a hill or anything stupid like that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Working on your car? Get these., June 25, 2009

This review is from: RhinoGear 11930 Tire Hugger Wheel Chock - Set of 2 (Misc.)
These are great. I ordered two pairs and had my car safely on jacks in no time. Just wish they were cheaper.

Pros:
- Color. Many wheel chocks I have seen are black; either you need to move the chocks and have to go searching for them or by the time you finish your work you'll forget the chocks are behind your tires. This way you'll always spot them before you try to drive off.
- Construction. On the con side, they are plastic and not overly stiff, however, consider what you are using them for. Plus, the ribbing along the bottom adds grip and the stackable design means they store in a smaller space. Definitely more plus than minus.

Cons:
- Price. At $10 for a pair (and you need two pairs) the price is a little steep, especially considering the relative discount one expects on Amazon.
- Packaging. The two chocks are tied together using a plastic screw. I had to resort to brute force to tear the thing out. There must be a better way to ship these together.

Fit well under the tire and the pressure causes the base to grip asphalt. Never figured I'd review a pair of wheel chocks...

those will do what they are designed for but mine already show some sign of weaknesses and eventually the plastic will crack.
I am using those for a PWC trailer parked on an inclined driveway and they do the job.

Not that it really makes a difference in their effectiveness or quality, but being black like this you could easily overlook them when you think you're ready to back the car down. And you need 2 PER TIRE, so if you plan on chocking multiple wheels, better double the count. These are not big chocks; the sizes are in the listing details, but for reference, these come close to shoebox size. I do like them, and for an added bonus, they're MADE IN USA, which is getting harder to find these days. Good product, good price.

Secures a light car by chocking the wheels. Pros: Lightweight, small, stacks together Cons: Alittle too lightweight, hollow, possibly bordering on flimsy. Would be great if the plastic/polycarbonate material was thicker or more filled for sturdiness and heft.
