Pretty good, April 8, 2006
This review is from: Rhizomes (Audio CD)
I was introduced to these guys by Pandora (http://www.pandora.com), and was impressed with the novelty of their sound. Indie Rock isn't exactly my favorite genre, but I find this album to be quite good. Crisp and clean, but dirty enough to give them a little edge at times, good vocals, catchy tunes.
"Eliza" is definitely a good song to chill out to and is my favorite on the album. "Letters Home" is a poigniant song about how it's so easy to get lost in this big city we share.
A very relaxing album all around. This one will definitely grow on you if you're not immediately impressed. Thank you, Pandora!
I was also happy to learn that they are from just over the East River, and I'm hoping to catch them at a gig somewhere in the city, hopefully somewhere with comfy couches, cause this music just makes me want to sink into one and let my mind wander.
