From the first time he went to Block Island as a teen, Mark Allio fell in love with Rhode Island. After years of visiting, he got a chance to move to Rhode Island in 1995. He lives with his wife, Mary Jane, their two children, and a yellow lab in Barrington, within view of Narragansett Bay. His interests include music and the martial arts.

Since I have 3 sets of grandchildren living in 3 different states, a daughter-in-law from another state and we are RI natives living in FL, I bought 6 of these Alphabet Series books and am planning to buy 3 RI books for each of my 3 children.I had them sent to my house so I have read them all. The pictures are great and they are all very informative and interesting. Many times I said, "I didn't know that." even in the RI book. Great for all ages and a nice house gift for someone moving to a new state.

This is a great children's book, and I have purchased many as gifts for friends and family. The illustrations are works of art, and not only does it teach the ABC's but the popular history of Rhode Island itself. Wonderful, wonderful book! Highly recommended.

It's difficult to give my daughter a taste of RI while living in CA. This book is wonderful at helping to make her a Rhode Islander! Not only are the illustrations beautiful, but the content is informative as well. I even learned some things, and I lived in RI my whole life!
