5.0 out of 5 stars "DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH", November 24, 2010
This review is from: Rhythm & Blues Christmas (Audio CD)
I originally bought this as a cassette tape, from a Walgreens in San Francisco near the Presidio in the late eighties. It was in a clearance bin, it was one of the best tapes I ever bought, it's been part of my Christmas playlist since. There are Blues gems here that you won't hear on the radio. The tape is on it's last leg so I had to upgrade to the CD. If you like old R&B, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Xmas CD!!!, January 3, 2007
This review is from: Rhythm & Blues Christmas (Audio CD)
This is a xmas cd that I bought over 10 years ago. This is one of two of the best xmas cds that I own. Even though all of the artist were before my time, I still enjoy this cd. I even bought one for my Mother a few years back. One more thing, track #18, "Frosty The Snowman" by "The Trailblazers" does not sound like a rhythm & blues song. That's my only complaint. (When making a backup of this CD, I omitted track #18.

For a little under 10 bucks, this is one you don't want to pass up. It has a dozen real gems at least. My favorite: "Boogie Woogie Santa Claus" by Mabel Scott, one of the most underrated vocalists of the 20th century.
