Another Eurodance act brought down by America!,
By Greg (Bristol, RI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rhythm of Love (Audio CD)
I don't understand why America is so flighty when it comes to dance music. Sometimes, a great song comes out that everyone jumps on, and then the subsequent releases are not played on the radio. Such was the case with DJ Company...their NRG anthem "Rhythm of Love" was a radio hit that went into the Top 100...and then the CD went nowhere and they were dropped from their label (actually, the label went under). Geez, it was Mariah Carey's record label--everything she does go to #1, why didn't DJ Company go! But it is a great flowing album with dance and ballads. Buy it and wish that the group came back!

High-Energy but Not Much Originality,
This review is from: Rhythm of Love (Audio CD)
Perfect dancing music for the summer of 2000 is what this CD is. While it may not be that original, the beats and synthsizer arrangements are sure to make you get up and dance, and January Ordu is one of the more talented singers I have heard in the past few years. The CD opens with a cover of Alphaville's "Forever Young". As good as it is, the better version still goes to Canada's Temperance. "Hey Everybody" is a very rhythmic, piano-based dance track that will definitely make you move. "Rhythm Of Love" is offered here in it's no-rap format, but it's "Mr. Vain"-bassline and sparkling keyboards with Ordu's vocals make this seem different. "Wishing On The Same Star" is the only ballad on the CD, written by song-a-holic Diane Warren, who has written some of the finest songs this decade. "I Can Be Your Lover" is a reggae-pop song, reminiscent of an Ace Of Base song. "Fly Away" is a pure, hi-NRG eurodance track, complete with a rap. "Hold Me Now Forever" is a slightly repetetive dance track, but probably could be remixed into a hot floor-burner. "Can You Feel The Spirit" is a beautifully orchestrated dance track with well placed chord changes. "Number One `97" is a slower song, much like "I Can Be Your Lover", but has a more R&B flavor. "Holiday In The Land Of Love" is another hi-NRG dance track, which has a more active synth-line than "Fly Away", and also includes a rap. For those of you who missed getting this CD when it was readily available in stores, now is your chance to pick it up. Great party music for SUMMER `00!

German EURODANCE to die for,

This album is one of those albums that is like a hidden treasure, waiting to be discovered and enjoyed. It was released back in 1997 in Europe, and luckily later in U.S.Every song on this album is simply PERFECT, and you can listen to this CD nonstop from track 1 to track 10. I just wish it featured more than 10 songs. The main style of music here is EURODANCE. Title Track, as well as tracks 2,3,6,7,8, and 10 all belong to this great music genre. These Songs have very BEAUTIFUL, DISTINCT, and MEMORABLE MELODIES, accompanied by strong female vocals, some rap, and AWESOME EUROBEATS. Simply AWESOME STUFF. If you like music by artists such as MASTERBOY, E-ROTIC, LA BOUCHE, REAL MCCOY, SOLID BASE, or BASIC ELEMENT, I guarantee you will enjoy these songs. "Wishing on the Same Star" and "Number One" are two very Beautiful Slow Love Ballads. Very enjoyable. "I Can Be YOur Lover" is a Euro-Reggae song (slower Dance), that fans of ACE OF BASE will surely enjoy. This is sn AMAZING DANCE/POP album that most people should enjoy.

Highs and Lows,

This CD has some of the greatist early dance songs ever. Rythem of Love is one of those few perfect songs I cannot find a peccadillo to attack, and Holiday in the Land of Love is a dance inducing high energy track guarenteed to put you in the land of love. However, some songs are not so great. Tracks like 8 & 9 are superfluous and ruin the all around quality of the dance CD with R&B. Overall, the 4 or so good songs are worth the buy, but DJ company is not a musical Paneca.

D.J. Company has the rhythm,

I first saw D.J. Company a couple of years back at WBLI's Summer Jam concert here on Long Island several months before the release of their album. From that moment on I knew this was one CD I had to buy. It's not very you get such a solid bunch of dance jams on one album. From the #1 hit "Rhythm of Love" to the upbeat party starter of "Hey Everybody", D.J. Company takes command of the dance floor and doesn't let go. I only hope they don't fade into the distance like most dance groups tend to do.

...one of the best dance CDs with words of meaning...Many dance CDs have a good beat to them, but this one has the beat and the words to go with it. DJ Company's "Rythm of Love" is #1.
