This review is from: Rhythm Thief (1994) (DVD)
I first saw this film on the Sundance Channel. If you haven't seen it, It is worth the view. Storyline: Simon is a street retailer, his shop a corner on the lower east side in New York, his stock bootleg cassette tapes, the ambiance a boom box. He scrounges food from restaurants, exists on vodka and beans, sleeps on the floor, and cares for an unloved cat. Marty, who may be an old girlfriend, visits. Down and out New York, unlovely and violent.
This is early work for Kevin Corrigan Park City: The Sundance Collection who did so many short films in so little time. And he was also on: Grounded for Life - Season One. Some other Kevin Corrigan essentials: Short 9 - Trust, Sundance Channel Gift Pack (Scotland, Pa. / Amy's Orgasm / The Sleepy Time Gal), Revelation (Home Use). |
