Formerly a professor at the University of South Florida, Raul Canizares now heads the Santeria Temple Orisha Consciousness Movement in Manhattan and lectures on Santeria around the nation. He is the author of Shango: An African-American Titan and Cuban Santeria. He lives in New York City.

the best collection of orisha music available, annotated by the greatest living exponent of orisha worship, raul canizares, featuring lazaro lagarraga, who went on to re-record the same songs in the much more mainstream IROKO. A must for the practitioner or the casual listener. Canizares and his co-producers made an outstanding recording.

The music contained in this casette is wonderful to listen to and extremely uplifting. The more you listen to this music the better you feel. It is truly a great collection.
