Dancing to Their own Rhythm,
By
This review is from: Rhythms Of Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Brynn Halstead, a dancing diva finds herself drawn to Simeon Storey, a jazz musician, club owner and accomplished composer. Having met briefly years before, they meet again working through their misunderstandings and begin looking forward to a possible future. When Brynn suffers a possible career ending tragedy that leaves her broken in a thousand pieces, Simeon is right there to pick up the pieces, never anticipating that trying to piece together something so fragile may further pull them apart. When I picked up this book I was in the mood for romance and that is exactly what I got. Doris Johnson created a heroine that one could empathize with and hero that every woman would want. However Ms. Johnson takes the proverbial saying "when it rains it pours" to a new level. I became a bit overwhelmed in all the obstacles faced by the characters. Nonetheless, the passion shown for their dreams and each other was infectious and the tragedy, recovery and discovery of oneself that our heroine goes through, distinguishes this from other romances that I have read. I found it enjoyable and definitely a recommendable read. And can I add that I would love to have this man in my life. Kotanya

I thought that this book was good.....Brynn has a passion for dancing and Simeon for writing music the 2 have met again under different circumstances and begin to date everything is cool until a number or accidents happen to test Brynn ....Brynn has a special gift( she can feel when those are in trouble) around her and when things begin to happen she begins to ask herself why her?....and after her career is hurt she is forced to pull it together and Simeon is there to give her all that she needs and can stand I think the love between them was wonderful I think the passion that the both of them have for the Arts and one another was great ..........I would love to hear their best friends story though it was one in the making.......this was a good read.............full of emotion

From the time she was seven years old, dancing consumed BrynnHalsted's life. Dancing for her was like being in love for the first time, and being loved back. At sixteen, a day after the death of her father, she displayed a toughness that belied her years as she executed a performance that propelled her into stardom. Simeon Storey, a fresh, young, up and coming pianist once played Four years later fate has again placed Simeon in Brynn's path. DEPRESSING!!,

This review is from: Rhythms Of Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
OMG!... Where is the love?...After 3 chapters, I actually threw this book against the wall. It was with great effort and lots of teeth-gnashing that I finished this book. From cover to cover, it was filled with depressing events, heartache after heartache, struggle after struggle. I didn't feel as if this should have been called a romance at all! I'm still waiting on that feeling where you say "ahhh", that was good! I've loved Mrs. Johnson's earlier works. Her last 2 books have left me wondering if she's lost her touch. I didn't enjoy this one at all. This is just my opinion. |
