Rhythms of Love contains two engaging love stories that ended too quickly. Ms Beverly Jenkins' YOU SANG TO ME, has Reggie and Jamal giving as good as it gets. Reggie has baggage so she's reluctant to trust especially a Music Producer!!!Jamal has met someone who's more than the outside package with the voice of an angel. Still with the help of her grandmother and best friend, our Dorothy/ Cinderella heroine takes a chance and lets LOVE come on in... Would love to see more of her grandmother and best friend's foray in love and romance. The second tale: BEATS OF MY HEART by Ms. Elaine Overton, you wonder how fate will bring Rayne and Tristan together. In spite of family issues; Grand Central Station mishap; looking for work; musicians... the Music waves its magic; everything clicks into place. Even though there are age differences, trust; and committment issues, LOVE conquers all. Both novellas were read in no time; less than a day if work hadn't interfered. Recommend RHYTHMS OF LOVE to anyone who needs a quickie especially a Beverly Jenkins' fix. This book should have been a Kimani selection for June, Black Music Month: Ode to Romance. Enjoy!!! Looking forward to more novellas, Ladies, please!!!

Beverly Jenkins and Elaine Overton created two awesome stories celebrating the love music and what happens to love when music is involved. Both of the stories gave the good, bad, and ugly when you people take your talent for granted or for their own gain. I also really enjoyed the message of hope, faith, and taking risk when you are passionate about your GOD given talents and abilities. Don't be mistaken, Beverly and Elaine clearly gave us some HOT passionate love scenes as well. As I read both stories, it made me think about how good love ballots are really created. What a perfect combination love/romance and music is a beautiful thing.

Beverly Jenkins story , You Sang to Me was outstanding. I like it when the hero and heroine start out at loggerheads. You just want to see how they will resolve their issues and contend with the chemistry.(5 stars) I also enjoyed Elaine Overton's story, Beats of My Heart. However, I had a bit of an issue with Tristan. He and his heroine had wonderful chemistry and a uphill battle. However, the story left me hanging about Tristan's future in the music field.

Really liked both stories - wished "You Sang to Me" would have been longer. Beverly Jenkins always "brings it" and although I'm not as familliar with Elaine Overton, I thought her story was also pretty good.

The two books joined together were a nice combination of romance and music and the results of mixing the two together. Ms Jenkins "You Sang To Me" was a brilliant work as usually (I and we (WE BE BOOK'N BOOK CLUB) are die hard fans of Ms Jenkins). The realization of the music business and how hard it is to really make it was worked well into the book. "You Sang to Me", shows how not to give up on what your heart and soul tells you to do, and to take it as far as you can. An Reggie's love interest Jamal, was a dream come true in many ways!! Our book club rated the two book together, and rated them a 5, but wished they we not so short, feeling that they could have been a whole book apart from each other.

This is a first read for our WE BE BOOK'N BOOK CLUB from Ms Overton. "Beats of My Heart" was a good read that took a different look at how small the world really is sometimes. And I like that a man (Tristan) is the main character and shows how he seems to be soft, but stands up for what he really wants in life, after much misgivings. I also like the fact that Rayne is a strong women, but deep down is really just a women that wants to be love the right way. WAY TO GO MS OVERTON! We as a book club will be reading more of your books!

RYTHMS OF LOVE IS A FANTASTIC BOOK; YOU SANG TO ME WAS GREAT I TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD REGINA'S ATTITUDE TOWARD THE MUSIC BUSINESS ,BUT I'M GLAD SHE FOUND JAMAL; HE'S THE TYPE OF GUY REAL WOMEN LOOK FOR EVERYDAY. BEATS OF MY HEART WAS A WONDERFUL STORY ABOUT TWO PEOPLE WHO MEET IN THE PRESENT AND FIND OUT THAT THE PAST CONNECTS THEM DUE TO THEIR PARENTS. TRISTAN AND RAYNE MAKE A BEAUTIFUL COUPLE YOU WOULD LOVE TO READ ABOUT.
