I have had Ricardo luggage before -- and loved it. It's unique design of having two
layers or levels (when almost all other brands have only one) is great for packing,
for separating your things, etc.

This one is great looking, has that great design, and many other Ricardo plusses. In addition,
the finish on the outer surface has been great at shedding liquid and dirt. One of my main
attrations to this model is that it is very dark in color(which means 2 things:
1.) it doesn't show dirt or "marks" nearly as much, but also means:
2.) that it looks like everyone else's lugguage!)

Well this luggage is very dark BUT has unique enough a design that you CAN recognize it on the
conveyor belt. The best of both worlds!

So, why only 4 stars? Because Ricardo has "cheaped down" some of the "hardware," especially
the zippers and the tab to attach other luggage. The zippers are especially concering because
you use them so much, and you wonder if they are going to get even worse over time. Because they
use smaller, weaker materials (compared to my previous Ricardo luggage) the zipper snags and
"catches" and you constantly feel like you are "fighting" with it to get it closed or open!

Its a shame, because without this significant flaw, this luggage would be virtually perfect
(especially for the very reasonable cost of their luggage!)

Ricardo has excellent customer service, plus suitcases that can be repaired if necessary. This is the fourth one we have purchased. Recently I had to get zipper pulls due to the fine airlines literally breaking them off, and a new pull handle for one I have had for 10 years. Ricardo sent them to me at no charge. Great service. The suitcases are very durable and have alots of good features. Very refreshing to have a company that stands behind their product instead of telling you tough luck, it's out of warranty like most corporations.
