4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Dairy Free Option
I have started drinking Rice Dream (RD) this year and I really enjoy it. It is a great option for those who are lactose intolerant and need to live a dairy free lifestyle. It is good to know there is another option other than soy milk. However, I hope Amazon can work on lowering the price or providing better deals on all RD products. You can probably find this product...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointingly watery and bland
Based on the information provided by Amazon and the reviews, this looked to be a good calcium rich non-dairy non-soy substitute to lighten my morning coffee. Just received it today and was extremely disappointed in the texture (thinner and more watery than expected) with almost no flavor or sweetness. It was nearly the same as pouring plain water in my cup. Yuck. For...

I have a 2 yr old daughter who is not only allergy to milk, but soy as well.
Living an hour from most major grocery stores, that carry this product, finding it on amazon has made my life so much easier!
The 8 oz size is perfect for my daughter to pack in our day bag, when we head out for the day. And she loves that she can drink it from a box, (as juice does not settle well in her stomach, and her older sibling get juice boxes, and she doesnt.) Now she has her own box, and that makes her very happy to feel she is being included and not left out with a plain old cup!
For my 2 yr old, this has Made HER Day!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rice Dream, a Dream for Moms w/ Kids w/ Milk Allergy, December 12, 2008
This review is from: Rice Dream Rice Drink, Enriched Vanilla, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 27) (Grocery)
As a mother of a four-year-old child with a milk allergy I can say from experience that these Rice Dream boxes are a life saver. These 8 oz. boxes are ideal for day-to-day use (errands, park trips, packed lunch for preschool), travel, at restaurants that do not provide milk alternatives, other people's houses, etc. I no longer have to carry a quart sized container with me or put the Rice Dream in a Thermos when we go places. They also resemble 'juice' boxes and therefore he doesn't feel like the 'odd man out' when among friends. Convenient. My son does prefer the Vanilla flavoring over the original.

Love this product. Our four year old is on the GFCF diet and these are perfect for preschool snack time and for traveling or going out to eat. Grandma

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, poor packaging, August 10, 2011

My kids have been drinking Rice Dream for two years and both love it, I was very happy to find these little boxes for our summer trips, much easier than dealing with cups on the road. My only complaint is the packaging is so flimsy it doesn't survive shipping. I just received my third order of 54 and 40% didn't survive shipping, they are bent and triangular shaped. I can somewhat squeeze them back into a shape my kids can use but at what I pay for these I shouldn't have to, they should be padded before shipped.

It was nearly the same as pouring plain water in my cup. Yuck. For 130 calories and 26 grams of carbs, this should taste much, much better! The 8oz. boxes would have been extremely convenient, but instead I'll be donating the rest to a local shelter tomorrow then heading back to Trader Joe's to pick up some 32oz. boxes of low sugar vanilla almond milk.

I prefer the Vanila but either "flavor" is great. I drink it plain or I mix my protein/fruit/calcium shake mixes in with it.

I sometimes like to mix it with Soy milk, but I also enjoy the Rice milk by itself because it is lighter in viscosity than the Soy milk, and you can chug it.

Either way, Rice Dream rice milk is a tasty and healthy alternative to my lactose intolerance problem.

Rice Dream has been around for a long time -- they make delish ice creams too.

It mixes well with certain fruit juices (but beware -- some fruit juices will curdle it), and is a good alternative to coffee cream.

For anyone over the legal drinking age, it goes well with liquers too!!
