Only for temporary installation,

We applied this window film to two double-hung windows during the summer months. Although there was some bubbling and our edges were a little wonky, we were happy enough with the results, and at least our neighbors couldn't see into our bathrooms anymore.
But as the weather turned colder, the films on the two upper windows began to peel off at the corners. We tried re-spraying the windows with water and smoothing the film back on, but it no longer stuck at all, and just gradually drooped down, pulling away from all four corners until it looked like hell. We are now looking for a more permanent solution. I honestly don't know whether the problem is just cold weather (in which case, it's not a useful product anywhere but warm climates) or whether there was some defect in the product or our installation. But it certainly didn't turn out to be a good long-term solution for us.

I've had these for over 8 months now and I love them. I never had a problem with them and they let in a nice amount of light. I'm about to move and it's nice to know I can take them off the windows I have now and put them on the new ones. If needed, I will buy more for my new place.

I bought this product to obscure the view in some clear glass cabinet doors, and it works perfectly. It is extremely easy to apply, and if you get it on crooked, you just peel it off and start over. However, because it stayed exactly where I placed it, I didn't even have to do this. I did have to use 2 layers, one on each side of the glass, to achieve the opacity I was going for, but only because items I store in the cabinets press against the glass. Since these cabinet doors weren't available in any other form but clear glass, the rice paper film gave me the frosted glass look I really wanted, for a very reasonable price. I will definitely be buying these products again.

...until it eventually starts to peel, then it starts to look cheap. Of course, you can reapply it every now and then to make it look better. My advice: if you want a Shoji screen, just buy one. None of these "Designed to Sell" cheapo shortcuts.
