The title pretty much says it all. I almost can't imagine starting my day without this stuff. I've been consuming a tablespoon of this every day with my breakfast for probably close to 10 years now. I started using it after reading that rice protein is the most easily digestable of protein powders. Works for me. Keeps me going through the morning.

I hate, hate taking protein as it tastes so bad and it always gives me the gag reflex. I have tried different brands of whey and casein protein in liquid, pill and powder form with no success. However, this particular brand of protein powder mixes easily with organic chocolate milk using one of those GE personal mixers. It is very palatable for me. Plus, it has no artificial colors or flavors added which is a big plus!

This rice protein mixes very well and is not gritty or slimy like some other vegan powders I have tried (soy and hemp come to mind). With a great amino-acid profile, this is perfect for anyone's everyday use or the physically active vegetarian. The only complaint I have with vegan/vegetarian powders abroad is the lack of bulk buying options. I regularly see whey in 5lb. tubs both online and in stores, but have yet to find anything over 3lbs. in a vegan variety. I will definitely be buying more!

Just the protein & nothing but the protein!,

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Vegan protein with NO ADDITIVES. I shake this in a cup with water, pea protein powder, and hemp seed protein. I then have a complete, totally vegan, protein drink. Yes; the taste leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm doing this for my health so I smile and chug it down fast!

first time I'd ever had a protein drink...meh,

I'd never had a protein shake before, but I'm a vegetarian/sometimes vegan and I've been recording what I eat and had one of these because I hadn't gotten enough protein today. I just added the powder to water. It was pretty gross, but I'm assuming most protein shakes aren't supposed to imitate French delicacies or anything...
The power kept sifting to the bottom so I was constantly putting the lid back on the bottle to shake it up, and it definitely had a chalky texture. I like that it's vegan though, and the nutrition facts seem pretty good to me - 55 calories, almost no fat or carbs and 12 grams of protein. One of those pinch-your-nose-and-deal-because-you-know-it's-good-for-you things. I might try the flavors, but more likely I'll keep some of the plain powder on hand to add to smoothies when I feel like I need the extra protein. I won't have it with water again! I almost put it in orange juice, but I'm not sure how that would work out.

Too Ricy,

I bought this for cooking (adding it to sauces), but it left an after taste on my vegetarian lasagna. I used 3 tablespoons for a 6-serving lasagna and it wasn't what I expected.
I also made a drink, shake, and it wasn't, let's say, the shake anymore, it was rice tasting. I suggest adding extra ice to your smothie and sticking to one tablespoon only (that's what I used). The protein level is great and it's nutritious, though. It's the best protein to cook. Making a bread or pancake? Try hemp protein. Shake? Try whey. Cooking? Try this one, but use just a little (maybe 1 tablespoon per 4 serving - which will increase your protein level to 3 more grams per serving - Hey, it's something!)and in something that has a strong flavor to cover it up, such as curry or a more elaborate spaguetti/pasta sauce (not marinara, maybe 4 cheeses). |
