5.0 out of 5 stars Great Consumer Credit/Debt Resource!
The ABC's of Getting Out of Debt:Trade Your Bad Debt for Good Debt and Your Bad Credit for Good Credit really stands out among the many credit and debt related books available to consumers for many reasons. For starters, the book covers the topic of credit and debt in a very thorough and objective manner. Such critical, but often overlooked, topics as the health effects...

I was very disappointed in this book. Most of the information given is easily found on the internet for free. I thought there would be more tips on getting out of debt, but most of the book seemed to be about credit reports. I would not recommend this book at all. Just do some searches on the internet and you'll be able to get the same info. Or just borrow this book...

Such critical, but often overlooked, topics as the health effects of debt are addressed. In addition, the book provides very simple and practical steps to help consumers that are struggling with credit and/or debt problems.

While the book is geared toward consumers that have credit or debt problems, all consumers can benefit greatly from the legal expertise of the author and from the expertise of Gerri Detweiler, who contributed to the book. For this reason, I strongly recommend that every consumer reads this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent overview of the credit system, October 19, 2004
I actually have the audio version of the book and found it to be both broad and in-depth. The author dispels many of the credit myths, and examines exactly how credit is established, rated, and how it can be used in both good and bad ways. He spends a lot of time reviewing the subject of "credit repair" explaining how scammers (especially on the internet)operate. He focuses on what you can do legally to improve your credit. I've read most books on credit and debt management and found this to be a welcome addition to my bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Consumer Resource, June 15, 2006
By
This book does a great job of covering several areas of debt that all consumers will find helpful. It is written in an easy to understand language, yet rich with detail and a variety areas covered. The chapter on debt collections touched on the topic of statute of limitations, which is very important to many consumers, including me. I found that two other books that I read on consumer debt did not deal at all with this important topic. I thank Garrett Sutton (and contributor Gerri Detweiler) for a very valuable book.

This book is a must have for anyone that wants to take control of their financial problems. It is well written and easy to understand. I also bought two other books from this series of books and it has totally changed how I look at money. If you apply the fundamentals you'll learn from this book, I have no doubt anyone can reach their financial goals! I also recommend "Rich Dad Poor Dad" and "Unfair Advantage"

I've heard this advise before, but we have to keep hearing it to do it. The book has solid advise about "Snowballing" credit card debt and what an asset or liability really is. For the first time I finally got what "Cashflow" means

5.0 out of 5 stars The ABC's of Getting Out of Debt, September 8, 2008
I purchased this book to find out how I might repair my credit and ended up learning so much more. The book gives you the inside scoop so that you have an edge when working with lenders and debt collectors. This book empowered me to take charge of my personal finances and, for the first time, I feel like I will be able to get out of the credit hole I'm in.

I purchased this book some time ago and never even cracked it open until I saw it in in the movie "Wanted" with Angelina Jolie. I guess it was a sign to crack the book and start working on my credit issues. I'm so thankful for the reminder - the book is outstanding.

Robert Kiyosaki and his team of writers have a unique way of teaching without preaching. All of his books have been inspirational, motivating guides that have helped me to increase my financial literacy. Any book that has his name attached to it, I will buy.
