Haven't They Ever Heard of the Internet, CSI, or Law and Order?,
By
This review is from: A Rich Man's Baby (Dafina Books) (Paperback)
I listened to the audio book and was particularly impressed by the narrator for Dionne's chapters. The storyline about the three main characters, Tanisha, Adrienne, and Dionne was very interesting, and I would have rated the book with at least 4 stars if it had not been for the sloppy ending. I won't rehash the plot since the previous posters have already summarized the theme of the book. The conclusion was disappointing because it was based on the premise that none of the characters were aware of today's technology. For instance, surveillance cameras in public areas track our every movement; ballistic tests can link guns to crimes; and the Internet allows us to keep track of the news in every corner of the world. This is why the ending of the novel defied logic. I will continue to enjoy the author's books, but I hope she puts more thought into the ending of future books. Her preceding novels were superior to this book.

(RAW Rating 3.5) The Big Pay Day,
By The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Rich Man's Baby (Dafina Books) (Paperback)
Some women think it is easier to take other's money rather than work and make their own. These women may feel this way because for years men have played on their hearts by deceiving them into believing they were loved when they were actually taking advantage of love struck women. Some women believe they have the right to manipulate and take men to the cleaners.
Tanisha Butler and Adrienne Sheppard are women who decided they could make huge paydays by dating basketball and football players, why not? The men wanted sex and the women wanted security. So what would be wrong with having a rich man's baby? After all, they played on women and even their wives, so there would be no harm done, right? With good looks and great bodies, it doesn't take long for these two women to snag their men and potentially secure their future. Although they have jobs, they want more and they get it with the money the men have to throw around. But all that glitter is not gold, and they both find out playing games can get you hurt. Daaimah S. Poole has written a book that is true to the game of women seeking sports figures and celebrities to hit the big payday. A RICH MAN'S BABY IS a fast page-turner filled with drama and it is certainly an enjoyable and fun read. Unfortunately, the ending was too unrealistic and made the one character, who seemed to have a conscious and morals, appear like an idiot. Reviewed by RM Jackson for The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

Daaimah's Best Book!,
By Karen (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Rich Man's Baby (Dafina Books) (Paperback)
I've been a fan of Daaimah's since her first book, Yo Yo Love. This author is all grown up now and her new novel, A Rich Man's Baby is her best books. Daaimah has definitely stepped up her game and that's saying a lot because all her novels are page turners. Now, I'm impatiently waiting for the sequel to this one.

I thought that the actions of Tanisha were unbelievable. For someone who seemed to have more sense than the other two women Daaimah had her looking like a complete idiot in the end. The notes, bullets...and what she did about it was unbelievable. The ending was downright stupid. Unless she come out with a sequel that clean all of this mess up I will not buy another book. She was not a bad mother so for her to run off like that and leave her children (especially a newborn) and the man she loved because she didn't want to go to jail for something she didn't does...give me a break!!!

Good Read!,

This review is from: A Rich Man's Baby (Dafina Books) (Paperback)
This was a good read. It was a little slow for me in the beginning but I finished reading it nonetheless! This was sad to see two women go to any lengths to find a man with money. All sense of self worth had gone right out the window! Athletes...beware! This was an okay read but it wasn't Daaimah's best work. I still recommend picking it up.

The Truth of your consequences.,
By D. Baker "Blackworm" (Suffolk, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Rich Man's Baby (Paperback)
This book definitely was a quick read and very entertaining. It was just that, in certain spots, some of the characters began to take a left turn into wackyville, and that bothered me for a bit. Tanisha, being so level-headed in the beginning, now has become a shell of herself at the end. Maybe for good reason, but it just didn't ring quite right with me. Adrienne, on the other hand, had her behind handed back to her on a silver platter and she had no one to blame for that but herself. Trying to cash in on her future by sleeping with rich athletes was supposed to put her on easy street, but the road just got a bit bumpy when her past came back to haunt her. Dionne, obsessed with her true love Kevin, refuses to let him go and live his life, while she's trying to maintain Terrence...her fiancee! There's a whole lot to enjoy here and it won't take long to get into, it's just that the road taken by some of the character kinda sorta betray who they were in the beginning.

"Crazy is what "CRAZY" does"............,

This review is from: A Rich Man's Baby (Audible Audio Edition)
First I have to say the book overall was good. It started good, lulled in the last 3/4, and then fizzled out at the end. I had to stare at my Ipod in disbelief of the horrendous ending. It left me asking myself, "Did I just invest over 7 1/2 hours for this"? The characters were funny albeit "ridiculous". Tanisha and Adrienne's antics were well beyond stupid and juvenile. Listening to the audio I kept asking myself, now which one is in their 20's and which one is in their 30's? Both women were just above teen-like. The story did hold my interest. It had everything, a psychotic ex, gold digging women, trashy sluts, groupies, NBA and NFL players and more. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a roller coaster of fun.
