Ethereal fantasy-erotic art at its finest!, February 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Richard Corben's Artbook (Paperback)
Richard Corben's Art Book displays some of the most colorful, vivid, imaginative, and downright bizarrest works of one of the most underrated and least-credited (where much credit is due) artist of the scifi/fantasy/horror/comic genres, Richard Corben (of course :)
This book, consisting of around 30 (or a little bit more) plates, contains some of his cover-art works for various comic and literary, from various Den covers to a couple covers he did of the old-school "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" to his various work from the late 60's and 70's for underground horror/sci-fi fanzines, as well as various concept paintings he did for Heavy Metal which never made it into stories (such as Necromancy and Cosmic Hunter -- it also contains various Bodyssey/Pilgor plates, a story that DID make it into Heavy Metal).
All of his works are accompanied by brief anecdotes behind each of them. Let Corben's airbrush take you into a dimension of awe and surrealism, eroticism and sensuality, horror and darkness, psychedelia and ambient imagery. It is in this book.

Corben is little known but a genius of fantasy art; this collects a good selection of his work and is well produced.
