Richard is a very thorough teacher. He is all about the formal development of a painting. Everything he does is done to make the work more exciting and interesting. He explains his decision making process as well as shows and explains the technical parts of his work in great detail. He doesn't hesitate to share his secrets. My only complaint is that the dvd is costly for something that I will watch only a couple of times. But hey, you can get maybe just as much from this dvd as you would from a pricey college class or workshop.

Richard McKinley not only is a terrific artist, but he is also an excellent teacher. The man is constantly offering advice as well as instruction throughout the DVD demonstration. Among my circle of friends, we are all extremely pleased with Mr. McKinley's teaching skills.
